"EMINENT" "WRITERS" SPEAK

Attention Sydney readers! If you’re bored or mentally ill today, why not visit the Bennelong Writers Festival?

Come, hear what these eminent writers have to say that might impact on the outcome of the next election. They speak to you from within the heart of Bennelong, the electorate of Prime Minister John Howard. This will be a stimulating and at times controversial day, with a chance to meet the authors over a coffee during book sales and signings. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Session One 10.15am - 11.15am: Tony Kevin discusses his book, A Certain Maritime Incident: the sinking of the SIEV X, with journalist and author Margo Kingston. Question time followed by booksigning.

Followed by medication hour. Things get super-diverse in Session Three, where opinions ranging from I Hate John Howard to John Howard: Hate Him! will be explored:

Session Three: 2pm - 3.30pm Chaired by David Salter
Margo Kingston: Not Happy, John!
Andrew Wilkie: Axis of Deceit
Dr Alison Broinowski: Howard’s War
Margaret Simons: Latham’s World
Includes question time from the floor

Suggested question: "Margo, can you name one of the Zionist fundamentalists who control politics and the media in Australia and the US?"

I would put a screwdriver through my eardrum if I had to attend that.

Where is Jemaah Islamiah when we need them? (sigh)

Such diversity of opinion! It'll be a rollicking free-for-all that can't be missed.

Coming soon to Pay-per-View.

Pish. They call themselves writers! Where's the poetry?

John Howard: From Hell's Heart I Stab at Thee.
The Howard Years: It Was the Worst of Times.
Fear and Loathing in Los Kirrabilos.

From their forgotten graves, the dead millions of World War II salute the peoples of Switzerland and Sweden, not only for their principled neutrality during that prolonged inconvenience, but also for their admirable ability to profit from all sides in such an inclement business climate.— PacRim Jim

At least the Swiss were neutral. These idiots are unashamedly on the other side.

Here's the opportunity to round up the dissenters! Quick, call the Secret Police, and they can arrest them lock, stock and bong.

What a quartet! Broinowski, Kingston, Wilkie and Kevin!!!

If they all sit in a circle we can call the police to complain that there is a 'dope ring' in operation. My god!!! Imagine the mutual onanism going on, shudder.

That's a "writer's festival"???

A group of tinfoil hat lefty clones signing and selling their verbal garbage to an audience so likeminded that they would actually pay to attend.

The best reason of all to hope for the return of a Howard Government will be to see the disappontment and despair of idiots like this on Sunday morning!

Here's a question:- "Who left the gate open at Tarban Creek?"

Someone should ask Alison B, given her belief that the behviour of Australians in SE Asia contributed to the Bali Bombing, what she's had to say to her husband Richard who gave ex diplo and alleged paedophile Robert Scoble, now in jail in Thailand, a glowing reference.

I worked in DFAT in the eighties. Everyone suspected that there was something iffy about Scoble. Either Richard was too thick to sus this out - which means that he can't have been much good as a diplomatic observer and reporter - or he suspected but didn't care. After all, Scoble was a fellow diplo, part of the club, doncha know!!!

Wooh, better not mention that it has now come to light that the Swiss benefited from their neutrality by laundering Nazi gold stolen from Jewish holocaust victims.

"What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality..."

Good point, TFK. Since when has Andrew Wilkie been a writer?

Posted by: Andrew D. at September 20, 2004 at 12:19 PM

These 'writers' are to literature what prisons are to sex.

Any butthead can get a book deal.

All the trees that the green left will sacrifice to make huge profits from insipid books.

Kinda makes a mockery of the whole green left thing, huh?
