WHERE AM I?

In Los Angeles, imposing on Matt Welch and Emmanuelle Richard. Read Emmanuelle’s multilingual account of last night’s all-blog BBQ extravaganza, which featured spectacular contributions from Tony Pierce, among many others.

Yo, Skippy - drop me a line if you're going to pass thru Chicago. Exciting automotive things are afoot.

TIM! Great to hear you're in LA!

If you are free and not about to leave town, email me. There must be some other bloggers around who'd want to meet you too. This is what, your third time here??

Tim — Don't forget to hit Musso & Franks in Hollywood, it's traditional! And Bob's Big Boy in Burbank on Sunday when the classic cars are there.

Oh, and the President is going to be in Santa Monica AirportThursday and there's going to be a big demonstration/counterdemonstration, starting around 3-ish...

Tim, if you're not doing anything on Saturday, I could use some help moving some of my stuff to my new place in Sunset Beach. I've got the truck, I just need a strong back. There's a great diner, the Harbor House, in Sunset and I might even pay for your meal. I figure you probably don't have anything better to do.

On second thought, I guess it's a little early in our *relationship* to be asking you to help me move. Maybe I'll get you to help the next time around.

I came by to say hi -- fun talking to you at Welch's -- but I didn't know you were running an errand board. I need my oil changed and my house painted. What time will you be over?

Tim, I desperately need a back rub. Meet me at the usual place. Thanks, JK.

Cathy Seipp has a touching account of the evening in which Tim reveals that "his 12 cousins, who grew up on a remote farm in Australia with only each other to talk to, developed a peculiar lingo of their own, with weird insults ("Spoon!") that no one else could understand."
