Can someone tell me what we derive from being in the commonwealth? Isn't it just a means for basket cases like Zimbabwe to siphon off money from responsible democratic nations like Australia?

What do we get from it? What do we get from Africa? Aren't African countries sovreign states with the right to manage their own affairs? Can't we just cut them lose and offer South African and Zimbabwean whites political asylum in Australia?

Then he goes and drapes himself in war mongering glory at a $10m memorial for Aussie dead in London. London. The Aussie killing fields are in France, John. 60,000 dead. Has the tool ever visited them? If he has it must have been on a forced detour to his precious mother country.

At least Howard had the guts to actually do something about East Timor after his predecessors from both parties looked the other way and as for waiting two weeks well, we had to get that all important U.N resolution didn't we?
