PUPPET-FREE RALLY PLANNED
Baghdad blogger Zeyad reports big anti-terrorism demonstrations planned for Iraq on December 10. Let’s see how much coverage these receive in the West. As well, Zeyad takes on the “brainwashed and deluded demonstrators in London”. He’s an excellent writer; scroll around for other entertaining posts.
UPDATE. Ishtar in comments writes:
We must counter them on the ground. Let's take up Zeyad's call to campaign for a world-wide Rally for Iraq on December 10.
Could be an idea. Another commenter already has her slogan planned:
I think I will carry a sign that says: "Hitler is Hitler, you morons."

He's a very good writer isn't he? I never thought that I'd be the type to go to a rally at all, but I'd be proud to go to one in support of Zeyad and the rest of the ordinary Iraqi people.
I'd also be proud to go to one denouncing terrorism. You know, the genuine kind.
"Hitler is Hitler, you morons."
yeah, i was getting annoyed by that saddam is hitler bullshit too.
Posted by: roop at November 24, 2003 at 12:54 AMYeah. Sydney Morning Herald subeditors do come up with some crap headlines, don't they?
Posted by: tim at November 24, 2003 at 01:12 AMyou're right, the headlines of an ex-time australia sub are much better. "frusked", for example, is a winner.
also, remember bob brown is hitler? possibly the nadir of this particular form of political "analysis".
Posted by: roop at November 24, 2003 at 02:00 AMRoop, Saddam is not Hitler, but that one is far less ridiculous than "Bush = Hitler".
Posted by: Ken Summers at November 24, 2003 at 02:19 AMsub editor, seniour editor, same thing.
cue remarks about how i know nothing about putting together a newsmagazine.
Posted by: roop at November 24, 2003 at 03:05 AMi spelt senior incorrectly. jeebus i'm an ass.
cue remarks about how i am, indeed, an ass.
Posted by: roop at November 24, 2003 at 03:31 AMSub editor, seniour editor, same thing. Quick, someone tell the paymaster. And roop, "seniour" means you don't get the gig.
You notice American soldiers have to be the security for this blood bath in the making? A crowd of Iraqis with undercover Saddam loyalists. Undoubtedly hand grenades will be added to the mix.
Still if they do it, what a thing to see a street full of Patrick Henrys.
Posted by: papertiger at November 24, 2003 at 08:52 PMTrouble with demonstrations in Iraq is that the Americans shoot at them. Perhaps you should all go?

Posted by: True Brit at November 25, 2003 at 05:24 AMThat would be in Fallujah. Were the Imam of the Ali Mosque found out that, when you are giving classes on how to make a bomb, it is best to wait until after the morning services at the Mosque are concluded. True Brit
