TOM DASCHLE, PROPHET

Writes Atrios: “I'm sure this quote will pop up on every wingnut site from now until the end of time.” Well, let’s get things started:

"The evil ones now find themselves in crisis, and this is God's will for them," said Daschle, a South Dakota Democrat.

Clicky on the link for an explanation of Daschle's, er, uncharacteristic tone.

If you ask me, Daschle should be supporting his country instead of going shopping for whitegoods like German houswives did in 1941.

Thank you Amos. It's been a crappy day, but you just made me laugh loudly.

Dawgunnit, I was going to make the German houswives a recurring theme in every second post I did.

Now, because you've callously said it's funny, I'll look like the one-joke lame guy who got a laugh so he keeps repeating the same line over and over while it becomes progressivly more embarrasing.

Curse you 'Polly' if that is your real name, you've destroyed everything I've ever dreamed about and ruined my life and my family's and probably destroyed Australia too, just as a mysterious spike in domestic sales of whitegoods in Germany in 1941 precipitated Hitler's negating of the Soviet nonaggression pact and the invasion of Russia.

And after shopping, they had lunch.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at November 20, 2003 at 03:54 PM

Damn. Left the "t" out of "schnitzel."

Posted by: Andrea Harris at November 20, 2003 at 03:55 PM

Must have been too much bier, Andrea.

that'd be "schni-zel...*hic*"

Amos, if you're going to quote Petey's "white goods" comment, you should also repeat his hilarious "note": (the above is reasoned debate...)

Forcing someone to have to look at ANYTHING Atrios says is cruelty beyond belief !!

So the plan is bore trolls sensless till they go away? Guess with Iraq in a shambles all you can do now is tinker at the margins of relevancy until the UN cavalry come to provide you an exit stratgey AND a ready-made scapegoat.

Posted by: Miranda Divide at November 21, 2003 at 12:26 PM

Ha ha ha! The UN cavalry!

The one that refused US protection of it's headquarters in Bahgdad then ran away when it was bombed? That UN? The one that has no combat troops of it's own, that relies on the US for most of it's enforcement muscle? The spineless, useless, corrupt incompetent UN? The mouthpiece and facilitator of the vareous broken-down Arab dictatorships currently desperate to sabotage democracy in Iraq least it spread to their own countries? That UN?

Or is there another UN, one actually capable of saving anyone from anything or even tying it's own shoe-laces without American help?

Lord, you funny, funny people and your bizzare delusions.

Posted by: Amos at November 21, 2003 at 02:03 PM

let me guess, Amos, you're an American? Well i guess your stupid government is to blame if the UN is so lame, they are after all the UN's biggest donor. So which is more inneffectual? The UN or your tax dollars?
