SUCKERS

Some people will buy anything:

After signing off on the sale of his company this week to the French research giant Ipsos, leading social commentator Hugh Mackay has again chastised the research industry for continuing to "seriously mislead" clients and warned corporations they are ignoring a "golden era" for advertising in their attempts to control costs.

For examples of the quality social research the dips at Ipsos have just purchased, click here, here, here, here, here, and here.

"concentrating very heavily on their backyard, their own family, street and suburb.

Damn right! In fact I just installed new razorwire, three new M-60 machine gun positions and defense in depth with Claymore mines.

Obviously, Hugh Mackay has sold out market research, at a huge profit, in the same way Phillip Adams profited out of advertising, in order to finance a full-time career as a political commentator. No doubt about about it, your heart can only be with the Left when your wallet's with the Right.

Left columnist thinks he's discovered the secret of finding out what ordinary people really think and sells it to the French for millions.

My God. I had him wrong all along.

I trust Hugh kept in mind the importance of narrowing the gap between rich and poor while negotiating his sale price and ongoing salary, or is it only other people's wealth which is obscene

ah, but wallace, are you at stage 3 with a RRF(Blue Heeler-Kelpie Cross)?

"They're not involved in the political process, they're not interested in social issues"

Perhaps. Or maybe they just don't give a shit about anything you say Hugh. Ever consider that?

Well, I read all of the links and won't thank you for them. I'm from the US and have never heard of the pretzel that is Mackay.

However, I think you guys misunderstand him. When he says "we," I read it as the royal "We." He isn't telling us about ourselves, he's telling us how *he* feels. Obviously deep compassion is called for one living as miserably as he (psychology-wise).
