LAWSUIT SHOCK

Mandy Block, the sausage mascot who was felled by pirate Randall Simon in a cruel race attack, isn‘t going to sue:

"I'm like, 'I'm just a sausage guys. It's not a big deal. I'm fine."'

She’s settled for an apology and the bat Simon swung at her. This marks a breakthough in the long-running bloodfeud between athletes and oversized costume wearers.

Professional sports-people beat their sausage in public all the time; what's the problem?

Food fight!

Mandy Block accepted his apology. I admire her. I enjoy imagining that somewhere there's a lawyer weeping bitter tears into his martini. She may have gained a souvenir baseball bat, but he lost a BMW.

For the next couple of years ol' Randall Simon is going to hear some absolutely nasty taunts in opposing ballparks. Said taunts will, of course, incorporate the word "sausage" in them. As far as I'm concerned, this is A Good Thing. He has now entered baseball's big-time punk club, alongside Roberto Alomar and Roger Clemens.

Yeah, if there had been a lawsuit, she surely would have been the wiener.
