BOMBINGS 'PREDICTABLE', PREENING SNOB ALLEGES

The charming gentlefolk who bombed Bali were provoked by Australians’ beer-drinking boorishness and support for the US, according to something called Alison Broinowski:

"The Bali trials (of suspected bombers) have reinforced my view that Australia was the target. I don't say the tourists deserved their fate but, with hindsight, what happened to them is predictable."

Well, obviously. The delicate sensibilities of the bombers - thoughtful men, with highly developed notions of civility - must have been jolted by the sight of people drinking beer instead of, say, composing poetry.

According to Broinowski, beer-swilling ... is an insult likely to provoke violence when Australians hit the bars of some Asian countries. She quotes a syndicated Malaysian journalist, Rashid Rehman. After Bali, he described the targeted Sari Club as filthy and reeking of beer, sweat, drunken foreigners, and smoky air "jagged with Strine".

Turning it into a blazing, blood-drenched ruin was an improvement, I guess.

By 1993, even with the pro-Asia Keating government in power, an editorial writer in Singapore was calling Australians "lazy bums", not the intellectual equals of Asians. It is a theme echoed by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, who in 2000 told Howard that Australia was a small country and should act like one.

This sounds boorish to me. But at least he isn’t a beer-drinker.

To top it off, we slavishly followed the US line. "Our assiduous support for the US line actually endangers more than protects us," she says. "A country that takes its foreign policy predigested (from Washington) invites contempt."

Let’s support Osama, like the Bali bombers do! Then everyone will love us.

Aside from the racist angle of Australians not being the intellectual equals of Asians, it might be nice if the Good Dr M remembered that his country owes 'little Australia' a great debt for keeping it free (well, as free as any country that imprisons political rivals on trumped up charges of sodomy will ever be).

Of course, the other thing that's offensive to Muslim sensibilities is women speaking their minds and showing their faces in newspapers. So it will only be predictable when someone kills her in the next few days.

A few weeks ago I read an article about this woman and her book on Asia's perception of Australians.
It was blood-boiling. This stupid cow is ensconced in a posh Paddington terrace after a lifetime of parasitic "foreign diplomatic service" in exotic locations, and now, between tea parties and ikebana classes she produces derogatory books on her fellow countrymen, on whose taxes she leeched off all her life.
A despicable breed, indeed.

She quotes a syndicated Malaysian journalist, Rashid Rehman. After Bali, he described the targeted Sari Club as filthy and reeking of beer, sweat, drunken foreigners, and smoky air "jagged with Strine".

So what's wrong with beer, sweat, drunken foreigners, or smoky air? I have no sympathy for someone who can't have a good time in a honkytonk, or who can't handle himself when the brawl breaks out. I suppose it takes a Muslim to not like Australians--every Ozzie I ever met treated me like we were old friends reunited.

And just how would Rashid know, unless he conducted some field research? My guess is that he was subjected to insults which none of the Faithful should be expected to endure, namely every immodest infidel Ozzie girl in the joint laughing in his pathetic little face.

Hmmmm, one wonders what her response would be to an article that read

"After Bali, he described the targeted Sari Club as filthy and reeking of beer, sweat, drunken asians, and smoky air "jagged with gibbering".

I'm sure the author would be full of umbrage at the 'racism' of westerners. Aussies are a far easier target

The Age should send Broinowski to do in depth research in a location where the Muslim faithful have brought their superior civilization into full flower. A place like:
Karachi
Tehran
Damascus
Yemen

Malaysia should remember it is a small country and act accordingly. Its PM especially should remember that. At least Mr. Howard doesn't hold paranoid fantasies, like the bigoted Mahathir does.

And what's wrong with Strine, except that only Aussies can understand it? Up with Australia.

Changing key words in quotes such as the like that spill forth from Broinowski is a fun exercise, as Nic has already cottoned onto.

According to Broinowski, taking excessive numbers of photographs ... is an insult likely to provoke violence when Japanese hit the scenic spots of some Australian states. She quotes a syndicated Australian journalist, Hugh Mackay. After Margaret River [where Australian bombers murdered 104 Japanese tourists], he described the targeted tour group as wild camera clicking shutterbugs, reeking of Kodak film and sweat from climbing hills to get better views, and the air "jagged with nihongo".

What a pathetic human being.

Ahh, the Broinowski bitch is up to her old tricks again...

I think it's time to call Dr M "recalcitrant" in your Bulletin column Tim.

Maybe he's mellowed lately.

Only one way to find out...

its all in ginger meggs,"Givus yer samwidge or I'll knock yer block off" (Don't hurt me Osama, here have my goodies.)

Good call, Tom! And apologies to Tex for not linking to his earlier examinations of this Brontosaurus lady.

"So it will only be predictable when someone kills her in the next few days."

And if that happened, going by her own logic, while she may not have deserved it, she would have to accept that it would be mainly her own fault?

Broinowski is the same Asian-Studies academic who penned the charming post-9/11 missive; "The Bully had it Coming". The first line in that dross reads;

Were the September 11 terrorist attacks on America predictable?

Sensing a theme? With such 20:20 hindsight in predicting terrorist strikes, Alison should go into fortune telling.

What a shining example of intellectualism.

What a fucking bitch! How the fuck do dickheads like that get into our diplomatic service?! I hope some Islamist psychopath cuts the slut from asshole to breakfast-hole.

How come when Australians stereotype foreigners, that's racist and despicable.
But when those in other nations stereotype us based on their ignorance, we're supposed to be embarrassed and change the way we live?

The stupid women still hasn't explained why the Muslims were so pissed off at what the Aussies were doing in a Hindu majority area!

Anyway, each time one of these drop-kicks makes an attack it just opens them up to us (as in the good guys) finding them and sending them off to be with their virgins etc etc. It might sound a little cruel but bring it on because we are going to kick their arse (ditto for North Korea).
