NATIONAL DUTY FULFILLED
The Al Aqsa Butterfingers Brigade strikes again:
Posted by Tim Blair at June 23, 2003 03:23 PMFour Palestinian militants died late Sunday, apparently when a bomb they were planting went off in northern Gaza.
At first, Palestinian security officials said Israeli tanks fired at a group of militants from the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, affiliated with Yasser Arafat's mainstream Fatah, killing three men and wounding four others, in the northeast Gaza town of Beit Hanoun. Another died later in a hospital, doctors said.
Later, however, loudspeaker trucks drove through the area saying that the four died while "fulfilling their national duty," a phrase used in the past to announce accidental deaths.
Sometimes it would be nice to have something stronger to say than boring old "Good Riddance!!!"
Posted by: PJ at June 23, 2003 at 03:32 PMIt is a pity the mongrels did't confine themselves to doing their `national duty' more often as in, every time.
Posted by: d at June 23, 2003 at 04:27 PMA few less food wasters and oxygen thieves to worry about :) Does this mean they qualify for the Darwin awards? Top of the list ma!!!
Posted by: Rob at June 23, 2003 at 05:01 PMIf Palestinian "national duty" consists of plotting terrorist attacks, why the hell should we establish a Palestinian state?
Posted by: Alan Anderson at June 23, 2003 at 05:47 PMI've decided that every time Tim posts a story about Palestinian terrorism, I'm going to post the same thing:
Yes, terrorism is bad. Just don't mention the Stern Gang.
I'm going to keep doing this until Tim posts about the Stern Gang, or something about the terrorist roots of the modern state of Israel at least.
Luckily, we have plenty of time up here in rock heaven.
Posted by: Bon Scott at June 23, 2003 at 07:58 PMScott, you are going to be a very busy man. We are going to take you at your word. From now on, we will expect you to post a reference to the Stern Gang "every time Tim posts a story about Palestinian terrorism". In accordance with the new French inspired EU rules on internet fairness, you have 48 hours to post about the Stern Gang after Tim posts about Palestinian terrorists. Failure to do so will discredits your position, making the Stern Gang argument completely irrelevant.
If you do not like this policy, please send your complaints to the appropriate place, namely France. A link is provided for your convenience below.

Posted by: Charles at June 23, 2003 at 09:30 PMAs an athiest I am uncomfortable when I read something and the thought "There is a God!" pops it's head up. I can just see it
"Hey Al, you sure that timer things going to work?"
"Sure, don't worry, look I tested it yesterday like this - watch. . ."
Posted by: Razor at June 23, 2003 at 09:38 PMThe world is a slightly better place now that 4 pieces of vermin are no longer aomgst the living. As far as the Stern Gand goes, taht was 60 years ago. If you have to fo so far back in history for moral equivalence you are pretty pathetic.
Posted by: Joel at June 23, 2003 at 11:50 PMWas there a retraction on this? The ABC ran a story earlier yesterday stating that Israelis killed Al Aqsa brigade members. I did not hear a retraction. Is there a list of retractions that Fairfax and ABC have not made as yet? Jenin, the Iraqi Museum, mass graves including the people shredder...
