Too wordy.

It may have benefited from a pun Tony.T

Posted by: Emily at November 8, 2004 at 06:26 PM

Yeah, that's going to happen!

Posted by: gubbaboy at November 8, 2004 at 06:48 PM

The message is not sophisticated and nuanced enough for the left to understand. Their confusion will continue.

Posted by: perfectsense at November 8, 2004 at 07:03 PM

Very true, Emily. There can NEVER be enough puns.

It lacks--how do you say?--ah, nuance.

Posted by: Sean M. at November 8, 2004 at 08:02 PM

I think Davo supplied the nuance. I think.

Alright, home-town boy pegs it. On the nose. Exactly.

Pithy.

The paper ran the letter.
That can only mean they thought it would make Smith look dumb.
It would never occur to them that their readers are pumping fists in the air and yelling, "YES!!!" and wondering why they didn't think of it.
Bet Smith doesn't buy drinks for a couple of weeks.

Eloquent.

Ah, and he is from Washington State! Telling the California Colonists to shut up! My hero! I owe him a drink or six.

I love it.

It only needs two words (total seven letters, starting with 't' and ending with 'k') to make it perfect. OTOH, they might not have printed it that way.

Perfect.

I wonder what the editors took out...
