CNN has issued a statement regarding yesterday's jpeg jape:

Netscape responsible for Bush photo insult

Disparaging image tags used to identify photos of President and Mrs. Bush currently circulating on the Internet were not created, disseminated or posted by CNN at any time, as is alleged. They were done by a junior-level employee of Netscape and posted on Netscape.com. CNN had no knowledge of this until it surfaced on other Web sites.

Netscape, which corrected the situation when it was discovered, has released a statement apologizing for the "inappropriate and disparaging terms" that were used in the image tags -- and saying that the company has terminated the employee.

It’s just more crushing of dissent, is what it is.

Good news. That person is probably looking for work cleaning motel rooms.

Finally, proof that Bush is responsible for rising jobless claims.

If you saw the photos from the San Francisco demonstrations linked to on Instapundit and you remember that Netscape is in Silicon Valley, it explains, but doesn't justify, this incident.

It illustrates the kind of slime we've been subjected to since 2000, with only a brief respite after 9/11.

It's kind of hard to take people seriously who equate Bush with Hitler and Satan and then accuse him of dirty politics. One measure of who to trust is whether who is in control of his temper. Competition is one thing, but contention, anger and hatred are symptoms of immaturity and shouldn't be trusted.

Yeah, it's kind of tough to FUCK MIDDLE AMERICA without any genitals.

Posted by: Jim Treacher at November 5, 2004 at 01:55 PM

What a bunch of self righteous fucks. In the new America we must all love Bush and pay homage to the president. He is an agent of god you know.

But of course he doesn't have a rear hole. He just backs it all up - that's why he is so full of shit.

Screw Bush and screw the fuckers dumb enough to vote for him

Yer we're fighting for freedom. Just not gays, women and anyone else to the left of Hitler.

Kill more Iraqi kids so their moms and and dads can vote for the leader of a smashed up nation.

The war has nothing to do with the freedom of the Iraqi people. Just a chance for white men to act tough by dropping bombs and shooting missiles.

Oh sorry we missed and killed the wrong family. We'll send two next time, and make sure we kill the right family even if we kill the wrong family by mistake cause we doubled up and took out two houses - just to make sure. Fuck yer man. We're the West and we know best.

Fuck man. It's war you know, and of course people have to die. And really who gives a fuck. They are just wogs you know. Not quite human. So no big deal if we kill 10,000 bringing them democracy. Hey let's kill 100,000 and really show them the value of democracy.

Fuck you Tim, Fuck you Andrea and Fuck all of Christian America. You are as fucked as the terrorists and you are both going to end up the same way. Fundamentally fucked.

Funny? I keep hearing the moonbat's heads pop but there's no splatter. What does that mean?

How about Agnostic-America? Dont we get some lovin' too?

Somebody needs changing...did baby make a boom-boom, awwww...

We'd change your mind, but I don't seem to have a fresh diaper handy...

BT, You wrote: *yawns*

Perhaps that is the attitude we should take at this point. It really has become tiresome.

rightwingscumoftheearthbaiter-

Yes. Yes, you are. In fact, you're a master baiter.

And I feel as left out as Thomas. Can't you spare some invective for an agnostic, gay-marriage supporting, first-trimester-abortion-rights supporting, Pat Robertson-despising, flag-burning-amendment opposing Right-Wing Death Beast? No room in the tent for me?

*sigh* I guess it could be worse. You could be TOTALLY ignoring me like you do Sudan (Darfur), China (Tibet) and - well - Iraq under Saddam.

You're so fickle.

As much as Dubya might frown on this sorta thing (outwardly, anyway), it's still kinda cool to be called a "self-righteous fuck." C'mon, admit it. It's got that same cache one felt back in junior high or high school when one was accused of being in a higher social strata than one actually occupied, correct?

Right****************baiter, you've made us all feel good about ourselves, nearly as good as we felt when we stepped into the booth with oily, blood-drenched fingers, dying to push the button for our fang-ed fee-ur-ehr! Long may you motivate us to do it again and again and again.

God, this is fun.

"Fuck you Tim, Fuck you Andrea..."

Well, I don't know about Tim, but I require my fuckers to have genitals.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at November 5, 2004 at 11:20 PM

Mmmmm, nothing in life is as good as reading the whinings of leftie-losers like rightwingscumoftheearthbaiter. I love being reminded that President Bush won and the LLLs lost.

jorgen-
You gotta love the expressions on their faces as their heads implode...

Posted by: Brian Swisher at November 5, 2004 at 11:56 PM

company has terminated the employee

I wouldnt have terminated him. I would have at least given him a fighting chance. You know, eg drop him into Iraq dressed up as an aid worker.

Posted by: TrueBrit at November 6, 2004 at 12:02 AM

Ah, I just love the frantic "insults" baiter put out. Oh, oh, I'm so upset.

Yawn. Boy, these people are so predicable. Andrea, can we poke it with sticks and see if it will start foaming at the mouth again? It would be fun!

Yeah, but careful you don't get any saliva on you. Then you'll have to get shots.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at November 6, 2004 at 02:54 AM

What nonsense. "[T]he company" that terminated the employee is the same company as CNN -- Time Warner. CNN and Netscape are just the names for Time Warner divisions, not separate companies.
