MOQERY
Hey, Paul McGeough! Got a great story for you, pal! It looks like Ayad Allawi is now working for Moqtada al-Sadr!
In other Moqtard news, Norman Geras reports that Naomi Klein is completely fine with the Moqster's innovative reform plans. As Norm points out: "He's only a theocrat, after all, who wants to turn Iraq into a theocracy like Iran; he's not of the Republican Party."
Posted by Tim Blair at August 28, 2004 05:56 AMWho wants to turn Iraq into a theocracy like Iran?
Ummmmm.....Iran does! D'oh!
Posted by: The Real JeffS at August 28, 2004 at 06:41 AMAt the risk of repeating myself yet again, NO FUCKING PRISONERS!
Posted by: Ken Summers at August 28, 2004 at 07:02 AMKen,
Do you hear about Mookie's 'no prisoners' policy? It seems they had a little sharia kangaroo court (no offense, Aussies!) ala the Viet Cong going in the mosque and they murdered several prisoners and left the bodies there.
The radio report I heard said they were convicted and executed but since Mookie had no lawful authority to try anyone, I figure they were just cold blooded murdered.
Posted by: JDB at August 28, 2004 at 11:54 AMI didn't hear about the "court", but no doubt they were just murdered.
That makes these bastards nothing more scumbags, deserving of absolutely no quarter and no mercy. Besides, if we allowed them to be taken prisoner, the ACLU would descend on the site and scream about their "rights", unlike the rights never accorded to their victims.
Posted by: Ken Summers at August 28, 2004 at 12:28 PMCalm, gentlemen! Perhaps, al Sadr did bad things and killed a lot of people in his time. But kill them pointlessly? I don't think so. Arguably... Iraq can only be held together by a monster, but, in this case, the monster who would try to turn Iraq into a theocracy like Iran at least has noble demands... for direct elections and an end to foreign occupation. So, when they say al Sadr is a very bad man, why should we believe them? Your posts about him are reactionary and unnuanced and seem only to perpetuate this notion that people who commit crimes are bad, are evil.
c, have you been collecting bizarro leftie posts? Perhaps you could post the database for our amusement.
Posted by: The Real JeffS at August 28, 2004 at 04:22 PMThe RealJeffS,
Thanks, but I only appropriated. Klein on Sadr (this post) was "collected" by Tim. Then, if you scroll down Tim's posts a bit, you'll see where he collected Andrew Bolt's collection of bad guy apologia. Read 'em and weep.
Posted by: c at August 28, 2004 at 05:19 PMOops! I missed that! Ah, well, this is what comes from posting when very tired........
Posted by: The Real JeffS at August 29, 2004 at 01:35 AMWell, Real JeffS, we're giving you a pass this time on your failure to have thoroughly memorized a day or two of Tim's posts. Frankly, it's a little baffling. Do you have a life or something?
Posted by: c at August 29, 2004 at 01:47 AM"Do you have a life or something?"
What is this "life" you speak of?
Posted by: Ken Summers at August 29, 2004 at 03:05 AMI dunno what this "life" is.....I'm just taking a break from remodeling the house. If the weather weren't beautiful outside, that wouldn't suck.
Posted by: The Real JeffS at August 29, 2004 at 04:03 AMReally now. I think we should all be ashamed for making a moqery out of this entire post.
