AMAZONIAN SALES FRENZY

Mike Moore in February 2002:

Two months ago, it looked like 50,000 copies of Stupid White Men might head straight from the printing press and into the pulper. Now the wizards at Amazon.com say it's one of the bestsellers in America.

Times change, Mike. Check out this current Amazon bestseller.

Go to the amazon page and scroll down to read the reviews.

It's very interesting to see some leftwing nutters, who would never actually part with 25 bucks for the book, write about why we should not read this book.

Geez. You'd think they were afraid of something!

While your own there, check out Oliver Kamm's reviews: he has reviewed every single Chomsky book. Its hilarious.

Number 4 with a bullet! Pretty damn good.

When's it likely to reach Oz, so I can go out and ask for it by name?

I've already ordered my copy, and I can't wait....On the other hand, I probably should have done what Pixy is suggesting - go to bookstores and pester their left-wing staff incessantly about ordering it.

As it is now, I'm awfully busy when I visit Borders or Barnes and Noble, because I gather up all the Michael Moore and Mumia Al-Jabar books and put them in the "Fiction" section.

It is interesting to see how many of the negative reviews of the book consist solely of the complaint that the title of the book is not original, that it was copied from Big Mike's book titles.

Of course, I would expect such reviewers to pan Moore's movie on the basis that he stole the title from Ray Bradbury. Not that I really expect that to happen...

Why "Big Fat"? Who cares about the man's weight (except Nader)!? Why can't we just barf all this "Michael Moore is FAT" nonsense out and get down to the business of vivisecting his HUGE lies? He LIES, that's the point, not his net tonnage. Al Franken is skinny, so does that make him right?

"Michael Moore: Stupid White Man" is so much better; or "Michael Moore: The Original Stupid White Man," or "Michael Moore: Lying White Man," or etc.

Geh. Anyway, had to get that out before I bought the book.

Thanks.

"Why can't we just barf all this 'Michael Moore is FAT' nonsense out and get down to the business of vivisecting his HUGE lies?"

What have you got against fun?

Actually, instead of reading the reviews, just check out Amazon's suggestions for other products...

Why 'fat'?

It's a dig at another author...

The left makes a big stink about comments about the appearance of their heroes, calling it insensitive and all maner of other PCisms, yet they had no problem whatsoever with "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat, Idiot" by Al (Skinny) Franken.

So 'fat' was included to take adavantage of the fact that, upon seeing it, leftists will refexively expose their hypocrisy.

Interesting that it's at number 4 without a substantial publicity tour. No interviews by Dan Rather on 60 minutes, big book signings, or other media exposure. Which begs the question, "How much attention will it get in the media?".
