SEPARATED AT BIRTH
Oily United Nations fundraiser Benon Sevan and pompous Australian economy-wrecker Gough Whitlam.

Posted by: Joe Geoghegan at April 23, 2004 at 03:09 PMBlow me down with a feather, genetic engi8neering was already viable that long ago: no wonde they hushed it up, the result are goddamned terrifying.
Posted by: d at April 23, 2004 at 03:30 PMIn 1976, Whitlam supported the notion that Labor should seek a secret loan from Saddam's Baath Party to fund the 1975 election campaign. Even Whitlam regards his policy as having been insane. Lucky Sevan - well, his alleged theft is in a whole other order of magnitude.
Gough would admire the bigness of his lost brother's vision.
'Cash through or cash'? Cash please.

Posted by: walter plinge at April 23, 2004 at 10:00 PMGough Whitlam ? Isn't he the poster child for the Monarchists in Australia ?
Posted by: Tim Worstall at April 24, 2004 at 01:08 AMBenan Sevan - turned a blind eye while a vicious dictator embezzled a country's wealth.
