It was posted one minute after midnight, which also looks more like an April Fool's Day joke timed for 23 hours and 59 minutes than a genuine goodbye, which would surely be posted at whatever random time he was fed up enough to post it.

It could be an elaborate, recursive April Fool's joke. Quit on April Fool's day, let everyone believe it's an April Fool's joke, then the joke is that it wasn't a joke. My brain hurts.

Besides, I got fired on April Fool's day last year, so I'm getting used to getting terrible, non-joke news on 4/1.

Besides, I got fired on April Fool's day last year, so I'm getting used to getting terrible, non-joke news on 4/1.

The opposite happened to me yesterday. I got told news that funding for my job has been renewed.
