Any non citizen, including permanent residents, can get tossed out of Australia should they be convicted of an offence and sentenced to more than six months prison. Makes sense. If he was stupid enough not to take out citizenship then good riddance to criminal scum.

I was more interested in the article underneath on Mugabe's views on the internet.

Why does the UN even give Mugabe a forum at its summits?

is it ok to send a whole bunch of crim lebs back to where they came from?? enquiring minds want to know!

Any non-citzen can be sent home provided they get a six month prison sentence. Unfortunatly you will find that most of the gun toteing males of middle eastern appearance shooting holes through south western Sydney were born here.

What the hell is a "Panel Beater"?

Mr Lachowicz said Mr Shaw, a former panel beater, had spent almost his entire life in Australia. Britain would be a foreign land to him. "Why send him back to another country?" he said.

A panel beater is a person who does body work on cars. This particular panel beater was more interested in breaking into your house, stealing your things, selling them to other criminals and using the proceeds to buy heroin.

Kenvin,

I think a "panel beater" is someone who repairs the sheet metal on automotive body work. Mind you, I'm not sure, but I have seen the term in close association with shops advertising themselves as performing "smash repair". A panel beater does a form of smash repair. It's logical, when you think of it.

That was a heck of a headline. Glad you fixed that, Mr. Bingley. I just wish I'd scrolled down a little more before I clicked on it...;)

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at December 13, 2003 at 05:54 AM

It's -- right -- there --- underneath "Post a comment." Is there some way I can make it any clearer? I mean, I don't know what else to do, guy!

Posted by: Andrea Harris at December 13, 2003 at 11:58 AM

yeah but.. it's in geek speak!

Posted by: roscoe at December 13, 2003 at 08:30 PM

Besides, he wished that every webpage used the same tags for links -- not that this page had instructions.

Posted by: John Nowak at December 13, 2003 at 11:26 PM

Argh! Okay then. I'll work on adding simple buttons to the comment entry page. (There is a [GEEKSPEAK] script [/GEEKSPEAK] for doing so.) Can't do anything about other websites and their ninety-million character urls, except to caution people to make sure they cut-and-paste the whole thing. Try putting it in Notepad to check it first.
