ANOTHER UN ATTACK IN BAGHDAD

Via AAP:

A car has exploded in a car park near the United Nations headquarters in central Baghdad.

There have been no immediate reports on the cause of the explosion near the Canal Hotel.

Witnesses reporting for the Reuters news agency say at least one person has been killed in the blast, which came after attackers killed two American soldiers in a mortar attack and a third died from a roadside bomb blast.

UPDATE from the Wash Post:

"The bomber drove up and was engaged by an Iraqi security individual just before the checkpoint," a U.S. 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment spokesman, Capt. Sean Kirley, told reporters at the scene. That policeman was killed, although it was not clear whether he was shot or died in the explosion, he said.

Kirley said eight other Iraqi policemen were wounded. He said he didn't know whether any U.S. troops were near the scene at the time, but none was wounded.

By the way, yesterday was the UN’s International Day of Peace.

Now let's watch as the usual "anti-war" (ie. anti-Bush) types start spinning how this is evidence of a "quagmire" and that Bush is a nutter for not pulling out straight away. After all, to these twats the West must always give in to every third world barbarian that ever was. It's the "Let's go and be kind to them" school of diplomacy. You know the sort of thing, Mr Islamofacist blows up a few of our people, so we must give in to all his demands and pay him a lot of money not to do it again.

The West is in danger. It is fighting a war against terror that it cannot afford to lose. Hence, we just have to keep laughing to scorn these appeasers of the left who would rather we lost the war than that the Conservatives won it.

Not one of the Deemocrat presidential contenders has put forwrd any convincing policy on the war against terror. And you can bet that none them will, because they just don't understand that this is a real struggle, not just politics. The latter is the only thing that the left is any good at. when it comes to actually exposing themselves to any real danger they are all cowards and nancy-boys.

Still killing their own countrymen in a show of what exactly? Insanity? Stupidity? Brain-washed Islamic fervour? Check.

I wonder what the local's breaking-point is for these type of attacks? The best weapon against these terrorists is for their support base to evaporate and one way to do that is to keep killing those who support them. One day I hope the local Iraqis decide enoughs enough and go after their real enemy - Islamofacists.
