The greenhouse effect is raising Nazi death ships from their watery graves.

UPDATE. Cancel global warming fears. Re-initiate global cooling protocol.

I thought the greenhouse effect was supposed to raise water levels...
But hey, anything that raises Nazi Death Ships has to be bad!

How can you be sure they weren't Nazi Minor Injury ships?

Death Beast intuition, Bikko.

What the Hell is it with the envirofascists? First they're hot, then they're my menopausal mother-in-law (and similar senses of humor).

Are your *sure* it's not the Good Ship Lollipop?

No no no, the cooling of the ocean is caused by global warming.

The weather system we have is a carefully constructed balance created by Gaia and any changes will cause all kinds of havoc - floods, droughts, increased snow, receding snow.

Increased snow - I kid you not: the Mayo 2026 Winter Olympics bid page has a "Global warming" page that explains how global warming can cause Mayo, Ireland to become cold enough to be a place more suitable than Smiggins Hole for winter olympics.

(I'm not saying that there's no such thing as global warming, just that it can predict virtually anything and therefore not a realy scientifically testable theory)

There is no pleasing some people. Weren't they complaining of Danube floods one or two years ago?

Makes it a lot easier to spear those caviar carrying sturgeon. Anyone got a Ritz cracker and a slice of boiled egg?

Posted by: Habib Bickford at August 8, 2003 at 09:00 PM

Sorry TimT the greenhouse effect is supposed to raise ocean levels, the Danube is a river.

You say warming and I say cooling. Oh, lets call the whole thing off.

I thought this would be a reference to the secret Nazi UFO base in the Antarctic. Exposing that would take some serious warming.

I demand global warming! I'm tired of freezing my ass off up here in Canada, and lighting forrest fires to keep warm.....

Posted by: Hugh Wyatt at August 9, 2003 at 11:59 AM

Craig, I'm not an expert in these matters, but since rivers and oceans are connected and water finds its level, wouldn't raising sea levels raise river levels as well, like tides affecting freshwater tidal estuaries?

Are you questioning Mother Earth! You bastard! It is whatever they say it is. What about the children?!! Now, go in the corner and pray for foregiveness from the tree spirit dryad-dohickie thingie things.

The Danube flows into the Black Sea; Serbia is nowhere near the Black Sea.

Sorry to sound like a smart arse but I think you should be careful as to the evidence that is used by some to discredit global warming.

There is a mind-set among some that if the greenies support it then it must be rubbish.

It is a much too serious an issue to dismiss through preconceived prejudice.
