NO POSTS FROM PRISON

Muslim blogger Ismail Royer (used to post here, more recently here) has been denied bail after being charged with violating the Neutrality Act -- ie, that he was part of group committed to jihad against India. Tim Cavanaugh has earlier background.

And the champagne corks pop in Tim's Temple of Hate.

Perfect blog title! Thanks!

Although I think Ismail might have an earlier claim. He's the one charged with organising a jihad.

To be fair, Ismail is different to a lot of the other people who have been busted since 911. For a start, he's a Republican who voted Bush in the last election, opposed liberalism and how muslims are in the thrall of the Left, and until he got jailed was writing the sorts of stuff that you might find on a typical conservative website.

There's been no question of him wanting to harm Americans or America. He's just in trouble for wanting to help the cause of Kashmiri independence. Big deal. Even if he picked up arms against India -- which he maintains he didn't -- then what about the Jewish Americans who fought with Hagganah in the 40s, or those American members of the Abraham Lincoln Brigades who fought in the Spanish Civil War?
