GOOGLE W. BUSH

According to Toni Morrison, Bill Clinton was the first black President: "Clinton displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald's-and-junk-food-loving boy from Arkansas."

Well, you know how blacks all come from Arkansas and only have one parent. But what of the tropes George W. Bush displays? He seeks information quickly, and from a range of sources; he is more skilled at acquiring information than he is at imparting it; and his questions are direct. “He doesn't get into global bull sessions,” says The Atlantic’s Robert D. Kaplan. “He wants your knowledge."

George W. Bush is the first Google President.

And Phillip Adams' tropes?

Well, he is slow-moving, bulky, known to secrete slime, and is most comfortable in the darkness. Most significantly he hasn't evolved at all during his entire existence.

Therefore he is the first coelocanth columnist.

I've always wondered whether Toni Morrison understood the meaning of the word "trope". What she's describing are stereotypes, not tropes.

maybe he's the first BORG president...and maybe I need a life.

It is unamusing so amny dribblers use `trope', without comprehension of the definition of the word.No more sensible than the inchoate slang marking youf culture.
But Toni didn't vomit when eulogised Clinton ?
Now the party of communistos and sadammites, the `Democracy' was formerly the party of the slave owners. This sets up quite an amusing paradox viz.Clinton's ancestry, and suggests a gag turning on schizophrenia:

`boy, let me flog maself...yes master, you just do that to this little ol nigger skin.'

Blast, now the political correctness police will be after me, to flay this whitey's hide: Gad, Switzerland is inviting - including the undisclosed bank accounts, how many smackers to migrate - I'll find it. Moriaty, quick, take this this roadside photograph of a $400 million note to Spring St. and collect the proceeds, I'll book the shack in Genevan Barbados.

And Bill Clinton's success proves how far anyone can get in life if they don't allow morals, ethics, or a conscience get in the way.

If, say, George Bush described black men as "single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald's-and-junk-food-loving boys", do you suppose anyone would cry 'racism'?

Funny there was no mention of his sexual appetite in the article.

The long running stereotype about black men is that they have a huge sex drive (among other huge things).

If she had included that it would have been a perfect (but mondernized) derivative of every Southern Fire Eater's beliefs about blacks.
