DUBYA DOWNUNDER

George W. Bush will visit Australia next month. Morrow and I have already been in contact with the US consulate regarding an appropriate blogger function.

I'd suggest some debauchery in Kings X, but the President doesn't drink and I can't imagine hanging out around there sober. Frightening.

Andrew, since your visit the Bourbon & Beefsteak has been closed for renovations. I think you broke the place!

He'll be in Canberra for a quick shufti too. Perhaps he'd like to try some pre-whacked snake?

Seriously Tim, if there's anything we can do for the bloke, we should.

Tim, I realise you aerial ping-pong lovers don't know anything about the code, but Bush follows Rugby and he'll be here when the World Cup is on, so Howard should take him out to Stadium Australia to see one of the matches. Afterwards, it's up to Kings Cross to get whacked.

If I go to Canberra before I visit to Sydney, I plan on getting pre-whacked in Fyshwick.

the latest ninemsn poll has more than 50% support for George Bush's visit to Australia. When his father came to visit he stayed right across the road from my house, and then he threw up on Kiichi Miazawa (Japanese PM at the time) on his way home. Bill Clinton stayed at the Sydney intercontinental (Bill's crew weren't as concerned about security as Bush snr's), and then he went to Port Douglas and visited the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest - my old boss from the Daintree Rainforest Research Centre got to meet him.

Tim - Go the Bourban. We used to go there for breakfast when we were kids and then when we were older after an allnighter!

If only they'd fix those pesky streaks that seemed to follow all the lights, I think things will be better.
