"The prairie dog died after being handled by ......"
Maybe we should call it "Humanpox"
What on Earth would make anyone keep a prairie dog as a pet?

You just like saying "Monkeypox", don't you?

Monkeypox - sounds like a good epithet for communards and Spring St drivellers: she/he/it/they are monkeypox.Yes, that serves well , particulary because it distils so clealry a plague which requires quarrantine and decontamination measures.

Let the men in white protective suits de-monkeypox ABC.

According to the folks I've known who have raised prarie dogs, they are incredibly affectionate and sociable pets. (Read: extremely demanding of your attention. Don't get them if you have a job or social life.)

As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather have a pet squirrel or rabbit.

*I* like saying "monkeypox." I think all new diseases should have 'monkey' in the name.

Hmm. "Monkey flu" would be an improvement over "swine flu," and especially the politically-correct sounding "avian flu."

Monkeythrax, monkeymonia, monkey mumps... the possibilities are endless.

"Dogpox" just doesn't have the same ring to it. Not only is monkeypox more fun to say, it also goes further in supporting my theory that we should blame it on the exotic pets.
