HORROR CONTINUES

Apologies Accepted -- a whole world of stupid responds to Sorry Everybody.

Speaking of idiot Europeans, I have an off-topic request for commenters. Over at Irish blogger Eamonn Fitzgerald's site (at www.eamonn.com) his resident troll, Ted, is acting up again. Teddy is in dire need of a violent fisking, as history on Eamonn's shows us that he goes away for long periods of time when confronted with people who know what' they're talking about. Its in the comments under Eamonn's post from Nov. 23 about the BBC finally picking up on the Oil-for-Palaces scandal (Ted responds to Eamonn and other posters by mocking Eamonn, bringing up "occupied" Palestine, St. Corrie of the Pancakes, the horrors of the American military, the bravery of the Mujahedeen). Believe me, Ted is VERY deserving of a Clue Beating.

Interesting that the one dude from Germany with his excellent writeup inviting Americans to come over by extolling the virtues of his fine nation overtop a lovely misty image of a beautiful castle built by some good-hearted insane Bavarian does not mention:

crippling taxes
stagnant economy
dwindling population
honest-to-goodness Nazis and Communists in state legislatures (but no Republicans, "thank God")

People actually feel the need to apologize for voting to avoid that?

Posted by: Crispytoast at November 24, 2004 at 09:33 AM

I would be VERY happy if all the moonbats would leave the United States. That way, I can have my pick of cheap housing in Los Angeles County.

Please leave moonbats. We don't buy your socialist lack of values. We're not even totally sure what you stand for other than "Bush is bad."

Posted by: Catracks at November 24, 2004 at 09:37 AM

And they think Bush voters are morons. Ha!

Posted by: Cherie at November 24, 2004 at 09:49 AM

Check out the bavarian castle one - Arnie (Austrian body builder) = Hitler (austrian painter)! Can't wait to hear more of that one in future moonbats

Patrick: Eamonn needs to take your advice. The only way to get rid of a troll is to 1) ignore him, and 2) ban him, and you might delete all his comments as well. These people are not amenable to reason nor interested in the facts; you'll get more results talking to your refrigerator.

However, trollbaiting can be fun, if done properly, and if you feel like enduring an increased volume in insanity and spluttering rage.

Andrea, alas, Backpages has closed. My favourite spot for a bit of trollbaiting. :(

You will vote out Sauron next time!

Dude, back away from the bong. "Sauron" won't be running next time.

Eamonn Fitzgerald has a great blog, but he posts just a little over once a day, with few or no images, and he's attracted commenters only recently. This suggests that he has a low-bandwidth arrangement with his ISP, and might be out a great deal of money if hordes of RWDBs suddenly descend upon him. Just a thought.

Some Americans are selfishly withholding their apologies:

You're Welcome Everybody

Posted by: Randal Robinson at November 24, 2004 at 11:40 AM

Look at it this way, the longer they whinge about it the longer it is that *we* get to gloat. ^_~

So. The Sorry go online and meet the Stupid. With pictures. It's like the dating service from Hell.

"We already had an Austrian painter once, and you had to come over and get rid of him."

What does he mean, "get rid of him"? I thought that Austrian guy now inhabits the White House? Lots of moonbats have told me so, and they can't be wrong, can they.

Posted by: PW at November 24, 2004 at 01:22 PM

It seems a little strange that comment, since a fair number of Europeans only just recently voted for the ideological cousins of said Austrian artist.

(Note: A painter is a guy who paints a house)

Notice that Osama isnt on the page.

He's currently busy recording his role in Moore's new film.

Posted by: Quentin George at November 24, 2004 at 04:28 PM

Not to mention co-producing it with Soros...

This whole thing is getting gayer with each passing day!

I feel ashamed to live in the same country as this hairy, hairy, man.

Benjamin, is that his knee!? Like I said--gay, gay, gay!

(not that there's anything wrong with that)

The Coreans [sic] can talk a long walk off a short pier. They're all worried Bushy is going to start bombing North Korea now that he has a mandate. Let the games begin! Where are those bunker-busting nukes?

Posted by: Tommy Shanks at November 24, 2004 at 10:36 PM

Sauron, okay, right, got it. Look, these guys gotta learn that fictional demonic spirits aren't eligible for the Presidency, only Secretary of Defense.

Time to blast the lithium down their throats with a firehose. Again.

I love the one Brazilian guy who offers bread and fresh water for those who come to Brazil. Don't go all out or anything.

"We already had an Austrian painter once, and you had to come over and get rid of him."

I'm sorry the U.S. got rid of Hitler. All better now?

Posted by: Tongueboy at November 25, 2004 at 12:47 AM

Mikey - mmmmm, high-pressure lithium...

ENough - he'd offer more, but the eeeeeevil 'murcans cornered the world wheat supply. The fillings in his teeth told him so!

And on the topic itself, who gives a flaming toss what these jokers think? The majority of them would, if voted into office themselves, be little Saurons themselves. They wouldn't CALL it that, no... but think of every petty civil servant who makes you jump through a hoop just because; every bored, "I'm entitled" career bureaucrat; everyone who meddles in the smallest affairs for "the children" or "the common good." Thanks, but no thanks, mates. I see what a wreck much of Europe has become, and the timidity of your once-proud peoples. No sale.

Nice to know that the "Pasty-Wanker Outreach Program" (as Lileks called it) hasn't gone unappreciated.

Thanks Tim for a good laugh about the Dutch site, "Apologies Accepted" - I split a gut. As I surfed through the photos, I noticed many claim to speak for all "Eupope", "Canada" (the most popular), "Malasia", "Korea", "Greece", "Dutch" (naturally) "France", and the like. The photos often feature their faces, and I found only two who appeared over 25 (so worldly wise). Many, in a bid for empathy used pics of small children and babies. Don't think this site will have influence beyond the hordes of young ideological naifs. As they get older, they'll change.
