INTERNATIONAL SORRY DAY

Are you one sorry son of a bitch? Of course you are! Bush the Hitler-powered chimpoid oil bunny is back in power, and soon he will send everyone to meet his beloved Jesus. So say sorry now, like these enlightened folks:

cig.jpg

He did everything he could. And now he can’t afford matches.

Charles and Kayla met at the 'Born Without an Upper Lip' support group.

First point: she's making a direct plea to Osama. Second point: Hot or not?

We may have our first hoax image.

UPDATE. Bill from squidly.com joins the sorrowful. Note the bold use of misery doodles, and Bill's superb 'whiner face'.

UPDATE II. Reader Daniel writes:

I just heard on the Hugh Hewitt radio show that a website is being set up to counter sorryeverybody.com. It's werenotsorry.com.

Bonus points for any images featuring guns!

I think the question of "hot or not" is spoiled by the fact that she clearly took the picture in a dark room - come on, love, lets see you properly!

To the Travis County (Texas) idiot: Don't worry - the normal Texans (you know - the majority, with the guns) will protect your sorry ass until you can move someplace you really belong.

Hot? Could be, except for the Ming the Merciless eyebrows. Is she Ming's daughter? There's certainly mischief in her eyes.

The downturned bottom lip in the second photo is exactly the face a colleague of my wife pulled. (He still doesn't quite understand that I'm serious when I criticize his political beliefs, he thinks I'm just playing devil's advocate. He can't comprehend that an intellectual could be a Bushy. Does not compute.)

Unortunately for the world, the George Bush Regime won't allow our best and brightest citizens to emigrate. That's why I voted for him - Imagine if these individuals were allowed to leave the US - the impact on our country would be devastating. If the collective intellect of this subjugated under-class were to fall into the wrong hands, it could threaten the stability of the very world they seek to save.
This is one American who counts himself lucky to know such intellectual titans are confined to our borders, where their creative talents will be used for good and not evil.

In a way, this election will help to end the neocon revolution once and for all. AT last, this group won't have anyone but themselves

[Management note: as it was about here that I stopped reading, I figured I would spare the rest of you charlie's boring screed. Also, I notice that he didn't answer my question. (No, the answer wasn't in anything I deleted.)]

Posted by: charlemagne at November 6, 2004 at 06:56 AM

"I've noto seen anything lke this in my lifetime, and what it's telling me is that people are really hurting out there because they're so vulnerable to demagogery on both sides."

Charlie, you must be one of those whippersnappers that doesn't remember Carter. Let me tell you about economic disaster: double-digit inflation, double-digit unemployment, double-digit interest rates.

What do we have today? Virtually non-existent inflation, 5.6% unemployment (same as Clinton's, bub), and comically-low interest rates. Add to that record levels of home ownership.

"What's startling about this is that I'm a solid moderate...who often votes slighly right of center on various issues."

Really? Then why did you write this:

"Frankly, the only person who addresses issues that MATTER to EVERYONE is this country was Ralph Nader."

You have a funny definition of moderate.

"Really, what's fascinating about all this from a broader sociological erspective is just how far down America is sinking relative to other developed nations."

So, we're sinking compared to other nations? Who? Give me some numbers for comparison. C'mon, you can do it, can't you? Or are you just parroting the party line?

But of course, if you bother to reply, you'll just move the goalposts. That's why arguing with you people is so pointless.

Posted by: Dave S. at November 6, 2004 at 07:18 AM

The "issues" Nader raised? This is a man who calls hot-dogs "deadly pink missiles" -- and doesn't even crack a smile! He's a cretin.

If a more-rapidly growing economy than Europe means we're "sinking down", long may we sink. When they "rise" to the point where they all starve, we'll move in.

"...faithful warriors of true grit"? You mean lefty vegetarian teenagers with nose-rings lying awake at night in a cold sweat lest the Deadly Pink Missiles come to take them away? Yeah, thank God. What would we do without them?

Relax, kid. You're upset because your guy lost the election. You're probably never been old enough to vote before, and nobody told you you might lose. After all, the characters on all your favorite TV shows always win out by the end of the episode, don't they? And now you're trying to understand why life isn't like TV, and you're angry, and you're lashing out. In school, if you go through the motions, you get the grade. But now you went through the motions and you got nothing. This is called "real life". John Kerry did a lot more than just go through the motions, and he got nothing, too. If the breaks had gone differently, George Bush might have got nothing instead. Again, the accepted term for this is "real life". It's not "fair" like TV and school are "fair". Stalin and Pol Pot tried to fix that problem (P.S.: It didn't work).

But that's too complex. All you want to do is wallow in it and hate somebody, preferably a large group of people you've never met. Bigotry suits young people. Their minds work at that level. Scapegoating is easy. There's a reason why "childish" is not a compliment.

Posted by: hideous bouncing brain at November 6, 2004 at 07:20 AM

Posted by: Aarrgghh at November 6, 2004 at 08:15 AM

OT, but ...

In the final tally Bush gets 289 EC votes vs 252 for Kerry. He wins 32 states with 52%-47% of the vote. The popular vote is 56,834,681 to 52,166,099; about 4.7 million votes.

If you win by 5 points, is that a mandate?

Posted by: Eliza at November 6, 2004 at 08:18 AM

Eliza: No, it's not a mandate, because there were more than five million spoiled ballots in various states. Assuming conservatively that at least all of them, if not more, were cast for Kerry, Bush loses in a landslide.

Bush is not my President. Charlton Heston is not my President. God is not my President.

The Establishment Clause explicitly disqualifies Chimpler from holding federal office due to his religious beliefs and those of his imbecilic dupes. Furthermore, international humanitarian law disqualifies Bushitler from holding any office whatsoever due to his known involvement in implementing capitalism, which is a very grave crime against humanity.

I'm with Angie - it's gotta be a parody. The frownie faces, the scowls, the idiotic scrawl that passes for writing, the lack of anything substantial to say...

I would double check the website, but for some reason, "Access is denied to my server."

Posted by: TimT at November 6, 2004 at 10:15 AM

By the way, now that I am home I can access IP lookup websites. I fed some of Charlemagne's IPs into Geobytes and came up with a result of San Jose, California. Now, Charlie says here that he comes from a "thriving urban area - voted blue - goood schools, plenty of good work, no bigotry...it's like a different country than the red zone..." I freely admit all that I know about San Jose is that Dionne Warwick had been away from it for so long she couldn't remember where it was. So, is San Jose, CA, the long-sought-for prejudice-free paradisical community? Or is Charlie living in a dreamworld?

Posted by: Andrea Harris at November 6, 2004 at 10:49 AM

You know, this fascism thing we started is really being bungled if Aaargh and Charlemagne haven't been rounded up and put in a Halliburton oil camp yet. Somebody's been taking too many coffee breaks, and I want to know who!

To the question at hand - sehr heiss. But I don't think the site's a parody; if it is it's an exact copy of true "enlightened American" thinking and therefore not a particulary good parody.

Andrea: As you probably know, San Jose is in the heart of beautiful Silicon Valley. I lived there for five years, and I loved it, and would go back again like a shot, given an opportunity. On the whole, Charlie's description fits San Jose.

There are (as you'd expect) a lot of Hispanics living there, and I imagine some would disagree with Charlie as to its bigotry-free nature. Every once in a while something would pop up in the San Jose Mercury News about racial difficulties, but I must say that many of the complaints sounded like nonsense to me. Maybe it was just the ridiculous ones that stuck in my mind.

A few miles south of San Jose is Santa Cruz, home of legendary California Moonbat U. A student there told me that Santa Cruz was not the Tolerance Capital one would expect, because there were "rednecks" there (the nearby farmers). When pressed to give an example of the prejudice she'd experienced (she was black), she said that people in the mall, say, wouldn't make eye contact with her.

Better yet, do they know Australia has an entrenched conservative government?

You're so ignorant about the world, just like Bush! Australia has a Liberal prime minister, just like Canada!

Warmongering Lunatic - Liberal party in Oz land is equivalent to the RNC in USA. Labor/Labour party in Oz land is equivalent to DNC in USA.

US lefties moving to Oz are in for the biggest surprise in their life.

DO more research in the web.

San Jose has some nice museums; the Rosicrucian is the largest privately owned collection of Egyptian art on display in North America; and the Tech frequently has speakers from the nearby NASA base. Nothing's more fun than asking questions about helium / oxygen breathing mixtures with someone who actually designs life support for the Space Station.

Loved the pics with captions posted on November 6th.
I keep getting Bush-bashing jokes from friends in the UK. Don't you have jokes that trash the Dems, leftwing liberals and such-like, that I can send to them? Especially the Brits. Trouble is Kerry has disappeared and is no longer a joke.
I appreciate that the biggest joke against them took place on 2/11 but sometimes you need something slightly less subtle to make a real impression. You need a hammer to crack a nut-case.
I need a little help out here in Zimbabwe and South Africa. I feel as if I am fighting on my own.
I sent the following letter to the Independent Newspaper group in South Africa (www.iol.co.za) in response to letters THEY are publishing complaining about the US war-mongers, stupid Americans, etc. and urging a "boycott US products" campaign to teach the US voters a lesson for voting for Bush. They are the largest independent newspaper publishers in South Africa and are consistently anti-US as are most of the South African press. The M&G ( Mail & Guardian) is a branch of the Guardian in the UK so you can imagine the kind of stuff they publish.

(Herewith reply to IOL letters)

Well hooray for you. Such a politically correct letter deserves some applause.

Naïve, uncritical and politically correct - you leftwing idiots actually believe the bullshit you see in movies like Fahrenheit 9/11. You suck up the irrational opinions of people like Pilger and Fiske, and wallow in those articles by the leftwing lunatics published in the M&G. You nod your head in understanding when some Islamic apologist explains why another infidel had his head chopped off on TV. You obviously believe all that anti-American stuff you see on the local TV and read in the papers even when it is patently untrue. What a bunch of dimwits.!!

You thrive on the politics of hate a la Michael Moore. Anti-Americanism, and Bush-bashing are the only cards you have. You don't agree with the policies of Bush and the US so you hate them ! You also hate Israel because you don't like what it is doing with the Palestinians. You hate Australians because of their immigration policies. Why stop here.? I'm sure I've failed to mention some countries. Because of the policies of Mbeki vis a vis Zimbabwe, perhaps Zimbabweans can enjoy the luxury of hating South Africans?

One can't accuse you leftwing, politically correct pricks of being foolish enough to have principles.
After all - you don't seem to hate the Sudanese because of their crimes against their ethnic African countrymen. ( Oops! I forgot. This is the fault of the US for not stopping the Sudanese government from committing genocide.. One more reason to hate Bush!) Did you get around to hating Sadam Hussein when he was murdering Kurds, Iranians and his own people? I doubt it.
Did you hate the French and the UN who stood and watched while the Tutsis were being massacred? Or the Hutus when they were committing a genocide against the Tutsis? . .Do you hate Iran and North Korea who are developing atomic bombs with which to threaten their neighbors and perhaps the world. Oops! Another mistake! They are building atom bombs because of the policies of the US. Or perhaps they are acting in their own self-interest while they threaten others in the process. After all - any country is entitled to act in its own self-interest. (Except, of course, the US. Silly of me!)

But don't worry - you can enjoy the company of plenty of others who hate the US and Bush for the same reasons. In particular the members of the "victim culture" such as Bin Laden, al Zarqawi, Mugabe, the neo-nazis, anti-Semites, Stalinists, unwashed leftwing stone throwers, anti-globalization thugs, suicide bombers, and assorted psychopaths and serial killers . The policies of Bush and the US have "forced them " to commit crimes, plant bombs, murder school kids, and so on. Have you thought of hating them? I don't suppose so - after all you are on the same side and besides appeasement to evil is much more comfortable.
Just like a person, you can judge a country by the quality of it's enemies and as Bush said "You are either with us or against us" . You stay where you are - I know which side I am on.

I'm mighty sorry this delightful young lady isn't in my company whenever I have to encounter any unkempt socialists with poor personal hygiene and an inflated sense of the importance of their rather quaint beliefs. I believe watching the recoil from that .357 with wadcutters would be more enjoyable than the image of a hippie's head exploding like an over-ripe melon whacked with a giant novelty mallet, but that's just me.

They're moldy hippies and slightly nutty peace grannies, and nice soccer moms who aren't much up on current events, but have a conviction that war is bad because it kills people.

So Michael Moore is writing for children now.

"If you're ten years old and reading this, your golden years will be truly golden and you will be well cared for in your old age.... I'm really enjoying my old age. Whaddaya say huh? You don't want to hang around the park, that's kids stuff. Come on over to my place, I've got an X-Box and the biggest candy cane you've ever seen. I'll let you lick it if you want."

And while I understand the attitude of the Ozzie consulate, re: "The Australian Consulate says, "Americans are funny. Fluke_boy --

Yeah, satire. I almost went on about how Australia is clearly the most progressive English-speaking country because its major parties were Liberals and Labour, with no nasty Conservatives like Canada or Britain.

Posted by: Warmongering Lunatic at November 7, 2004 at 06:24 AM

"...um, isn't that how America got started?"

Well, yes, richard, that's right. Except that the first colonists avoided outright persecution by emigrating to a howling wilderness, a process that took 300+ years.

The "disenfranchised Democrats" are just a bunch of sulking leftoids looking for a different latte shop in Winnipeg, Auckland, or Sydney. The Rethuglican Gestapo is not chasing them across the border with dog and shotguns; these characters are (effectively) renouncing their citizenship voluntarily.

So it's not exactly the same thing. ;-)

Erm... Richard, what happened in Australia and Canada wasn't particularly different from what happened in the US at about the same time. It just gets a lot less attention because it wasn't done by Americans.

I freely admit all that I know about San Jose is that Dionne Warwick had been away from it for so long she couldn't remember where it was. So, is San Jose, CA, the long-sought-for prejudice-free paradisical community? Or is Charlie living in a dreamworld?

San Jose is just south of San Francisco. Your call.

Bill-
My amateur attempt at satire. My first thoughts were it was an audition for Michael Moore's next movie.
Anyway, they're free to leave anytime - There's at least 59,000,000 of us that would be happy to help them with the paper work. (Except for the Hot one, she is after all a fellow Texan) I'm betting the "world" will take a pass on this lot -Didn't we already got booted out of every decent country on earth?

Posted by: southpaw at November 7, 2004 at 08:47 AM

Egg => Face. But at least the benefit of the risk was some restoration of my faith in fellow man. These days... well, by now UD and the like have probably started comparing Bush to Hitler because of his "Nobody's Allowed to Leave Act" of 2003.

Ah, the paradox of satire... The greater the fodder for it, the greater the likelyhood someone serious will out-absurd you.
