ROVE/OSAMA LINK REVEALED

Walter Cronkite identifies the evil genius responsible for the latest Osama bin Laden video:

So now the question is basically right now, how will this affect the election? And I have a feeling that it could tilt the election a bit. In fact, I'm a little inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing.

Oh, they’re e-mailing each other all the time:

From: binny@toraboradeathcave.com
Date: Thurs October 28, 2004

Subject: new videotaping we have

Yo, Rovemeister!

Is Osama here. How you do? Hope all is well with campaign for evil, etc. (How about that John Kerry wife - the crazy one. Two burkas for her at least! Kerry, he was surely wearing the fermented hummous goggles when they wed!)

Anyways, maybe can help campaign with new video, featuring me in star role. See attachmented clip below.

Yours in happiness,

Osama

Osama, you old dog!

By all means, please release this video ASAP. And, as we’ve previously discussed, for every percentage point we gain in the swing states we’ll send you another kidney we’ve harvested from murdered Democrats in Florida.

Best wishes,

Karl

Walter was an idiot in the 60s. His signature sign off; “That’s the way it is” was really “that’s my spin for today.” Had the internet existed in the 60s, Walter’s reputation would be lower than Rather’s reputation today.

Damn death caves. They just don't make 'em like they used to!

*grumble*

Posted by: Rebecca at October 31, 2004 at 03:42 AM

This spin job is a little loony if he was being serious. Rove is good, but not that good or that stupid. Is it just me or are the democratic supporters in the media getting a bit desperate?

Posted by: Jeremy at October 31, 2004 at 03:42 AM

So, let me see if I get this straight:

Rove convinces Osama to make a video designed to help Bush win re-election, so that Bush will have another four years to hunt down and kill Osama.

And this was once "The Most Trusted Man in America"?! Jesus, that's frightening.

Rove probably went to one of them celebrity-look-alike places and hired him an Osama and dressed him all up in those Mohammedanism-like bathrobes, and made him read that gussied-up speech. It probably ain't Osama at all!

Posted by: Backwoodsmama at October 31, 2004 at 04:03 AM

Really, this is making sense now:

Mrs. Kerry ruined the October surprise of Bush announcing the capture of Binny...so instead they had him do this tape. Brilliant, now to keep it hush for 4 days and then it doesn't matter.

The liberals are so full of conspiracy theories I felt obliged to help them on this one.

Dang. There goes another icon of mine. Guess I was a liberal (in the old fashioned sense of the word) in my younger days.

I have *NEVER* seen a group of (theoretically) intelligent people (I do mean the Democrats, just so there's no confusion) shoot themselves in their collective foot so often, and with such accuracy.

Posted by: The Real JeffS at October 31, 2004 at 05:03 AM

Clearly, Uncle Walter leans Democrat because of the heightened possibility of the lifting of restraints on stem-cell research, thus holding out the hope of a cure for his advancing Alzheimer's disease.

I also really liked it when the doddering old f*cker said this:

CRONKITE: Who's to blame for it really is the intensity of this campaign. Plus the fact that we have a preface to this in the last campaign. WHAT YEAR WAS THAT NOW?

KING: 2000.

CRONKITE: 2000. Thank you very much.

Jeebus. They have them every 4 years. It was Bush Jr Vs Gore last time, Wally.

Posted by: max power at October 31, 2004 at 06:17 AM

By an accident of history, the fool Cronkite along with the glistening toad Andy Rooney, found themselves scribbling about World War II within boot-licking distance of Edward R. Murrow.

Rooney is a special case, a preponderating asshole who has managed to outlive his intellectual and personal superiors, so that he has something like status at the network. He goes on like a malignant skin blemish protected by Ugly Chic.

Remember that Cronkite started in the 50's as the host of "You Are There", a contrived set piece of poorly acted live costume drama that high school thespians would be loathe to copy. Garbage.

Blame or thank the penumbra around the equally overrated Murrow for the public existence of both Cronkite and Rooney. Both of them will eventually be as memorable as Winky Dink, Pinky Lee and Uncle Johnnie Coons. See, you don't remember any of them either.

Walter was overcome by Agent Orange and lost his sense of reality about 40 years ago, Rather picked up where Walter left off. Both still pining the death of Joe Stalin.

Walter Kronkite, Dan Rather, Bob Scheiffer, and Sam Donaldson (US news media people to those not able to enjoy their "objectivity")are all Texans (though not claimed by the great state). Walter does commercials for the great social bastion of the University of Texas and hasn't lived like the proletariat in years. Just go back to your New England-base yacht and moan about things and hope somebody cares.

I love this blog. Nevertheless, Jimbo recalling Pinky Lee, not to mention Crusader Rabbit and a dozen others I could bring up...defeats the point about Rooney and Cronkite.

And richard mcenroe remembers that damnned Winky Dink grease pencil, too. I think Winky Dink was the REAL reason I needed glasses. Not the one they told me.

I could invert the remark and say we'll remember Winky Dink, Pinky Lee, Smilin' Ed, Tom Corbett LONG AFTER we've forgotten Cronkite and Rooney.
So there.

And I hated Crusader Rabbit.

John:

There's a possibility that something like that is fizzing away in the ferment of Cronkite's porous brain. All he needs is a producer. (On "You are There" he always resembled a sleazoid in some 1943 Abbot and Costello vehicle, maybe a boxing promoter or fleabag hotel desk man.)

Rose:

That's a Kerry role plain and simple. Almost a roman a clef.

Osama: My Dream Candidate

I have just finished reading the transcript of the Bin Laden tape and have come to the conclusion based soley on this one video appearance I would vote for him above Kerry and Bush in an election.

Firstly, he attacks Bush's simplistic view of the 9/11 "attack". Osama says:

"Let him (Bush) tell us why we did not attack Sweden, for example. It is obvious that those who hate freedom cannot have the pride of the 19 (September 11 suicide hijackers), God rest their souls".

The only way we will be able to defeat terrorism is to first understand it. Osama understands this, and sees the 9/11 hijackers not just as barbarians but as people with legitimate grievences. If we all though like Osama the world would be a better place.

Secondly, Osama understands the nature of our corporate system and how some people have amassed great wealth not through hard work but purely through birthright. Osama says:

"We did not find it hard to deal with Bush and his administration given the similarity with the regimes in our countries, half of which are governed by soldiers and the other half by the offspring of kings and presidents. We have a long experience with those. Both categories count people who are arrogant, greedy and embezzle (public) funds."

I'm sure Osama would introduce an inheritance tax or increase the taxes on the wealthy in order to combat this inequality if he were elected President.

Thirdly, Osama criticizes the Patriot Act. Neither Kerry or Bush has come out strongly against the Patriot Act so this is a very big win for Osama. Osama says:

"He transferred tyranny and repression of freedoms to his son and they called it a national law (US Patriot Act, introduced) under the pretext of combating terrorism."

I'm sure Osama would repeal the Patriot Act if he were elected as President.

Fourthly, Osama brings attention to the Florida vote rigging scandal perpetuated by the Bush machine. Osama says:

"Bush's father thought it was a good thing to put his sons to govern states. And he did not forget to transfer (election-) forging skills from the presidents of the region to Florida to use them in critical times."

Lastly, Osama is strong on national security and is not afraid to criticize the President for his inaction. Osama says:

"It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the US armed forces would leave 50,000 of his citizens in the two towers to face these horrors alone at a time when they were most in need of him."

I have no doubt that if Osama was President he would have a plan of action.

I hope I have swayed some of you to write-in vote for Osama in the coming election. He is truly the candidate for the people.

UBL wouldn't have been able to watch 9/11 if Tommy Ranks hadn't been running the Tora Bora operation from an easy chair in Florida.

read this
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A62618-2002Apr16?language=printer
in this morning's Washington Post.

Fantastiv reporting. There is more out there just like this - the truth will set you free!

Give it a day or so, until we see the winding down of the Repo spin about how the UBL tape drives home the non-fact that this election is about terror. I looked at more than 200 local front pages this morning - it's a non-issue in all but one (small) swing state.

That will take through Saturday, maybe. Then the rhetoric os going to go right back to why Bin Laden is still alive, and how in fact the election is about Bush's MISHANDLING of the war on terror.

Kerry will close with a rush as the sorry truth - from Bush's perspective - gets everyone back on track. I can already feel the initial sting fading already.

Another thing. Usama timed this perfectly - the guy is brilliant. Bush has been the best recruiter out there for Usama, so why should USL want him to go. UBL knows how to troll, that's for sure - even though he is an evil SOB. Given the ringing success that Bush has handed to UBL in Iraq - in terms of terrorist recruiting and enraging the Middle Eastern world, why wouldn''t he want Bush back in office.

UBL wants a chump, not a winner as an enemy...someone like Kerry will take him apart piece by piece and cost AMerica way less in the bargain

I copied and pasted the URL you gave, Charlemagne, and there is no direct quote which supports your contention in that WaPo article dating from 2002. It did not indicate that it was from this morning. Maybe the confusion arises from the fact that you own a way-cool bitchin' neato time machine, and were able to have your morning paper delivered from two-and-a-half years ago.

Theater Commanders don't really have to be in the theater these days, either.

Osama is so brilliant that the Taliban have been knocked over in Afghanistan, we have been able to learn about how many of the European Quisling republics were helping the Ba'athists cheat on the worthless UN sanctions (because we knocked over Saddam), Libya has nervously dismantled its' WMD program...yeah, he's brilliant, alright.

"Given the ringing success that Bush has handed to UBL in Iraq - in terms of terrorist recruiting and enraging the Middle Eastern world,..."

Riiighhttt. They can bask in the Florida sun while their troops die for a war that makes us unsafe.
Franks should graduate to video games, where he belongs. He and Bush screwed out troops over.

---------
22 NEW terrorist groups outside of Iraq formed SINCE the Iraqi invasion. Does the word "distributed terror" mean anything to these pumpkin heads? They're fighting 12,00 insurgents in Iraq as the threat grows exponentially elsewhere BECAUSE we're in Iraq. So, who's winning this war on terror again?

Sure, send some SSBN's over there and destabilize the whole WORLD. Thank god you're not in the White House pal. charlemagne may have a point. In prosecuting the war at Tora Bora, we needed the cooperation of both the warlords in the area, and the Pakestanis. This is a fragile and somewhat political alliance. If we had committed ground troops without anyone else, We may have lost the aid of out biggest regional ally, Pakestan. So we should have committed more ground troops like Kerry has advised, and not have allies in the area, wait...that's not Kerry wants,...he wants more allies,...How was he going to do both?

Posted by: John at November 1, 2004 at 12:10 AM

You gotta be careful with grammar and usage around Chuckie. Anyway, I prowled the franchise books stores around here and looked under "Classics", but no luck.

Chuckie never answered the old questions about what his military credentials are. I and a number of other guys here would like to exchange our war experiences with Chuckie and compare notes. Less than a week ago, Zarqawi made some announcment about his group being in partnership with Al Queda . . now he finds out the leader of Al Queda is a Bush puppet. I bet ol' Zarqawi is feeling pretty sheepish!

How would you feel if you'd been thinking of yourself as some sort of hero-martyr, only to find out that you're really the puppet of a puppet (Zarqawi) of a puppet (bin Laden) of a puppet (Bush) of Karl Rove? Pretty demoralizing.

Hell no, but since you would not have done any better, what is the point of aruging that point, as you would have left old Saddam in power. BTW I not going to sign my children up for the war. CAUSE IT NOT MY ABILITY TO DO THAT. It is not parents ablilty to do that, that is a strawman augrument. So lets just take that off the table because it is IRRELIVANT. From Prof. Sam Wang of Princeton University.

This page is available online at http://synapse.princeton.edu/~sam/pollcalc.html

Below is a meta-analysis directed at the question of who will win the Electoral College. Meta-analysis provides more objectivity and precision than looking at one or a few polls, and in the case of election prediction gives a more accurate current snapshot. The calculations are based on all available recent state polls, which are used to estimate the probability of a Bush/Kerry win, state by state. These are then used to go through all possible combinations of battleground state results. The effects of undecided voters, turnout, and polling bias are calculated using the bias analysis. Here are the full methods.
