ONE MAN, MANY PLANS

John Kerry has a plan. Let him tell you all about it.

Okay, so we know John Kerry has a plan, but do we know if he was ever in Vietnam?

Posted by: PW at October 29, 2004 at 05:16 PM

Every time I see or hear something like this, I have to remind myself that you can do the exact same thing with the other guy.

Still funny, though.

I'm hoping that the American people are smart enough to send John Farkin' Kerry and his mystery plans packing on election day, and not for a move to the White House.

Here's hoping they vote in large numbers for President Bush's re-election.

Let's hope the don't let me down the way my fellow Massachusetts voters have let me down in the past!

Kerry has been one of two worthless senators from my state for the last 22 years and in all that time he's had lots of plans, none of which have ever materialized for the benfit of anyone outside those union members working on the Big Dig project. They, of course, love him.

Beyond that, the state has gained nothing from his representation in the Senate. He's an embarrassment to the state of Massachusetts and to the United States of America. The only greater embarrassment would be Ted - the Pickled - Kennedy.

Oh, and may all of Kerry's lawyers come down with a violent case of the Flu between now and Tuesday!!

Nothing's quite as boring as listening to people talking about their home renovations. Or their wife's.

Posted by: fidens at October 29, 2004 at 07:31 PM

This is a palindrome, it reads the same forward as backward:

A man, a plan, a canal, Panama.

This is not a palindrome:

A man, a plan, a sham, Kerry.

It means the same forward as it does backward...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

YES, as a cocky, ignorant American war-monger (also a card-carrying member of the vast right-wing conspiracy) I can tell you that GWB will be re-elected this time around. Sure, the country 'seems' to be split in half - but in reality - it is not.

9/11 changed things for us. I live in NJ which Gore won by 18% in 2000. We are a Democrat state - yet Bush is either tied or up by 1 here. We lost 700+ people on 9/11 from all parts of our state. We are still on 'high, elevated' alert since the summer. People here are sick of the Dems b.s. - both with our governor appointing his lover to be in charge of Homeland Security and with JK/JE talking the talk - but not being able to walk the walk. I have seen so many GWB lawn signs in NJ - I don't remember seeing any in 2000. It might be close - but GWB will win. And we're still proud to have Australia as our steadfast friend throughout our history. Thanks Australia.

Every time I see or hear something like this, I have to remind myself that you can do the exact same thing with the other guy.

That would only be true had we not already seen Ws plan in action. JF'dKs plans are all (contradictory) talk at this point. And much of Ws plans have actually used equipment that JF'dK tried his best to cancel at many points in his.....um...career. Those that Cheney killed (much as it pains me) were only after the Cold War ended, and they were not seen as needed for much longer (like the SuperTom, which I still have not forgiven him for, but it was somewhat understandable. But God how I hate the SewerHornets.....).

Posted by: Crusader at October 30, 2004 at 12:21 AM

Thanks Mr. Bingley and as further explanation to those who can't understand why Bush will win (despite their best efforts) - I offer this illustration from Cox and Forkum.

It's not that we don't care what the rest of the world thinks. Well, nevermind. Yes it is. We don't care. We only care about those who agree with us. I guess we're fickle. Although my great-grandmother used to say, "if they don't like you, it's their loss."

Posted by: Kathleen A at October 30, 2004 at 12:24 AM

i've never quite understood this obsession with being 'liked' by the rest of the world (of course, as crusader and ths will vouch, being 'liked' was never an affliction that i had to deal with much anyway, except by our dogs and cats, but mind you a good case can be made that that was only due to the food i gave them, but i digress); oh sure, i'd like us to be respected, in the sense that we can be counted on to do what we say, but to concern ourselves with being liked, which to my mind means doing what others want us to do and is best for their interests, well, a pox on that.

Posted by: Mr. Bingley at October 30, 2004 at 12:57 AM

Off comment here - but if you want to see a true Aussie legend - then look no further than Adam Gilchrist.

This man has everything - can tear attacks apart with his batting, has a magnificent sense of fair play, has not only wicket kept throughout the hot indian summer but also achieved what no Austalian captain has in 35 years - a series win. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

Sorry - drunk - deal with it!

Posted by: Rob at October 30, 2004 at 01:06 AM

Bingley,

I agree! Better to be respected, than liked, but in the case as it currently stands, I doubt we will be respected by the world much due to screwed up values and the envy that exsists. I always ask the question of folks who talk about us not being liked: "If they don't like us so much, why are so many people risking life and limb to come here?" It just doesn't add up.

Posted by: Crusader at October 30, 2004 at 01:26 AM

Lots of great plans, and lots of big lies. John Kerry is a pathological liar..

Posted by: hm at October 30, 2004 at 01:39 AM

This audio file illustrates the socialists' love affair with government "plans". As we've seen all too often, their plans are seldom grounded in reality nor are they very successful. Of course, when they fail, they're ready with a new plan to fix the old plan, only requiring ever more money.

Exactly!!! I am not a native of the US but I can speak from my experience that US is the first choice as a country to live in. I took my naturalization test as soon as 5 years requirement was met. I am not taking any chances of leaving America once I am in it. I told my friend the other night when he was so upset that his liberal friends told him that the world hate US. I just told him that how many country that you know of that have illegal and non-illegal line up at the border every day wanting to get in? Being a president is not a popular contest; I want a president that looks out for MY interest and MY country interest first. I expect other country’s presidents to do the same.

Posted by: The Boston Red Sox at October 30, 2004 at 02:48 AM

Bingley's got it -- once again.

Some Americans are like insecure teenagers who think its more important to be well liked than to do the right thing, or they're locked in a dysfunctional relationship with manipulative Old European parents who are always critical and never satisfied.

Leadership isn't a popularity contest.

I happen to live in a country where the reigning philosophy revolves around a need to be liked by everyone else. Around here, the technical term the gov. uses for this is "soft power". That is, if they like us, they'll listen to us. Uh-huh. It is an approach that has made us irrelevant on the world stage, incapable of defending ourselves or helping our friends and neighbours. Hell, we can no longer even recognize who our friends and neighbours are.

Being liked might be important in kindergarten. In the real world, I'll take respect any old time.

Now who recognized Canada in this????

Posted by: Crusader at October 30, 2004 at 04:53 AM

I agree totally about these rediculous feelings of insecurity some Americans have (Foreigners don't like us) so we need a new president to get them to like us "again". Grow up! most didn't like us in the 90's and surely won't like us in the 10's.

The real issue is that these same Americans vote based on who they like (or dislike) rather than who will benefit our Nation. In this case we have a percentage who still feel Bush stole the election in 2000 and hold a grudge. These voters are the most ignorant because they also run from anyone Gore endorses and cringe when he opens his mouth in public....but feel he should have been our president for the last 4 years? If the light bulb turned on for just these voters Bush would be ahead by 20+ points and the Dems could save their money for 2008.

I can't recall ever seeing an election that "appears" to have no issues on the table that differentiate one candidate from another, but in actuality they are like oil and water. The best I can tell is that Kerry does stand for a different set of issues but its a secret because he can't win if he tells us?

It has come down to the MSM and DNC resorting to sway the most ignorant of the American voters with issues only related to feelings. What does Abu-Graeb, stolen explosives, Haliburton, manipulated ad graphics etc etc have to do with voting for a president? Show us some documents (preferably real) that GW or any of his cabinet or even anyone at the top sent a memorandum to torture prisoners, directed the selling of missing explosives to terrorists, received any direct compensation from Haliburton and maybe we would have something to consider.

I'd love for even a half intellegent Kerry supporter to come on these blogs and set me straight. Simply, what is it that Kerry will do that we need? For that matter what is it that Kerry would do that we want? Please, bring some facts and evidence he is capable of producing the results.

Au contraire. (Can't have a French-less post in a Kerry thread, you know.) I think you're reading those types wrong. The diehard "stolen election" nutcases are generally found on the hard left, and I'd say they were pretty happy with Gore's endorsement of Howard Dean, as well as Goredom's frequent outbursts of rage in the last couple of years ("digital brownshirts", "preyed on our fears", and all that jazz). That it wasn't quite enough to get Dean nominated is a different matter. Those are the folks who are only supporting Kerry now because he's the anointed NotBush.

Anyway, those folks are a lost cause...like many others above, I'm more concerned about the large "we want to be liked by the world" faction. I suspect if the press was doing its damned job and reported on what's going on out there, quite a few people of that group would end up thinking, "okay, maybe I don't want to be liked by that world, after all". But maybe there's hope, considering that Rasmussen poll from a few months ago showing that only 1 in 5 Americans considers the United Nations an ally anymore. A Bush reelection, followed by four more years of worldwide obstructionism, and that number should hopefully evaporate completely.
