THE COLUMN AFTER TOMORROW

This week’s Continuing Crisis column in The Bulletin mentions John Howard, Mark Latham, Noam Chomsky, Wayne Carey, the host of Media Watch, Amway, Hezbollah, Ruud Lubbers, Merlin Luck, Mohammad Rafique, Robert Mugabe, Neil Mann, Richard Stremski, Margo Kingston, Jon Faine, Terry Lane, Wayne Sanderson, and Phillip Adams.

Better go fix "teh subject" if you're rippin' on Margo's spelling, dude.

Checked original copy, "Teh" is an introduced error. Still, they've saved me from enough of my own mistakes.

...Sky News called, wanting to know if I'd debate tabloid journalist Margo Kingston about her new book, Aieeee! John Howard Has Eaten My Brain and Now I Can't Spell! (Penguin, rrp $24.95). I was up for it, but once she learnt I was involved, Margo backed away faster than Mark Latham at a salad bar....

He he he. Typical! Conservatives relish any opportunity to lock horns with the Left, but that's not easy, when the latter have such a cowardly narrow comfort zone. Which reminds me- any feedback yet, from Margo's Gleebooks appearance? What a short-nails-and-underarm-hair fest that must have been.

Was the Big Brother evictee from West Germany or East Germany?

"A toast! Here's to Hezbollah!"

Not a barbecue-stopper for Mike Moore, as they're helping distribute his film.

That's a scream: U.N. `peace dove' stone dead; Sri Lanka orders police inquiry.

I suspect the dove pegged it when it was told, when the festivities are over it will be given a new home,as a pet to Kofi. No wonder the poor little bugger carked it.

Whoa! Error alert. Neil Mann was captain in 1955, not coach.

Posted by: tim at June 23, 2004 at 06:05 PM

Yes, but I am pretty sure he was coach of Collingwood in 1975 although that was his last year (I haven't seen the new book yet so I am going from memory). Did you mean to say 1975, not 1955?

Posted by: john at June 23, 2004 at 10:33 PM

Got the year right -- he was captain in '55.

Why the stigma against illegals? Big Brother gob-taper Merlin Luck ... used the word himself in an interview ...

He used the word about himself for the obvious reason that overstaying a tourist visa is illegal.

Seeking asylum in Australia is perfectly legal.

But whatever; why let the facts get in the way of a story - even a bad one.
