FEISTY UNDERDOGS CONFRONT BIG BUSINESS

Available on June 29: Michael Moore Is A Big Fat Stupid White Man, by David T. Hardy and Jason Clarke. Starting with the title, this promises to contain more facts than Moore has cited in his entire career. I'm a contributor, along with Anthony Zoubek, Andrew Sullivan, Kay Hymowitz, and Peter Ross Range. Order your copy now.

It should be titled-"Michael Moore is a big fat stupid smelly white thang"

Posted by: Mike W. at June 16, 2004 at 01:39 PM

or "Dude, Where's my conspiracy theory"

The title alone is enough for me to part with some cash...

That and the watch the doco about Moore are both on the list of things to do for the year.

What's your percentage of the royalties Tim and will there be book signings?

I really hope that bookstores position Moore's and this book together, just for comparison.

Now for balance, the RNC should buy and distribute 500,000 copies of this book the way the DNC is doing with F9/11...

Book signings! That''s a good idea. We could have one at the nearest burger joint to Moore's place.

It has to outsell this.

No! Don't order it online!

Much better to go into your local bookstore, march up to the counter, look the salesperson right in the eye and ask "Pardon me, but do you have a copy of Michael Moore Is A Big Fat Stupid White Man?"

And if they don't, that's good too, because then you can ask the same question at the next bookstore.

(And can you imagine fifty people, I say, fifty people a day, walking in and asking "Do you have a copy of Michael Moore Is A Big Fat Stupid White Man"?)

They'll probably just think you had got the title of his book wrong and direct you to the piled copies of Stupid White Man.

Yes, one of the reasons I don't like brick & mortar books stores is that staff tends to be lefty and patronising as hell.

i can think of a couple of bars near me for some book signings...

Have a book signing, but let it go on for an hour after the store is supposed to close. Make the minimum-wage-earning (and preferably minority) maintenance workers wait until they're so angry they call the cops. Then when the cops arrive, you can start screaming about fascists and oppression and people trampling your First (or Second--whatever) Amendment rights.

Done! Just preorded a copy.

I have to make a confession: I often go into book shops and put other books in front of so as to cover up Michael Moore's works. I do the same for Robert Manne's book on the Howard Government.

Damn right! I remember walking into a bookshop in Geelong and asking for the "Skeptical Environmentalist" by Bjorn Lomborg and the chick behind the counter looked at me like I was something that just crawled out of a dogs anus. And then proceeded in an almost hysterical manner to tell me why Lomborg was the anti-christ.

She was a babe too...damn!

Dog mate, you should have quietly listened to her and then said,

"Cool! So, you wanna put that order in, and then maybe we could go out for a drink."
