NO WHEELCHAIR, NO OUTRAGE

Damian Penny writes:

Six weeks ago, Israel launched a fatal missile strike against the "spiritual leader" of Hamas, Sheikh Yassin, and the world recoiled in horror. "War crime!" people cried. "Murder! The cowardly killing of an old blind man in a wheelchair!"

Today, gunmen from Hamas and Islamic Jihad walked up to a car containing a mother and her four daughters, aged 2 to 11, and shot them all dead at close range.

The Sydney Morning Herald’s account of this atrocity seems remarkably outrage-free.

From Afghanistan to Iraq to New York to Israel to Bali, it's all the same war.

Posted by: lyle at May 3, 2004 at 06:28 AM

May the mother and the children rest in peace.

May the terrorist scum and their supporters burn in Hell with Yassin.

Posted by: JeffS at May 3, 2004 at 06:46 AM

It's moments like these that i would like the ISF to burn "Palestine" to the ground. Salt the earth gentlemen.

Posted by: madne0 at May 3, 2004 at 07:27 AM

...what media bias they ask.

We know who the media and the Europeans support. They do it in part to keep their access to the story. CNN is proof of that. The Europeans do it mostly because they have forgotten the past and revived their Jew Hating ways.

...and once again they will be proved to have been on the wrong side of history.

Posted by: Keith at May 3, 2004 at 07:30 AM

Maybe the Security Council is waiting for Monday morning to resolve to condemn this. You think?

Posted by: David at May 3, 2004 at 07:39 AM

Yeah well, they're terrorists. That's their jobs. The Israelis job is to take it and not fight back.

So why be outraged?

I seriously get the feeling that these a-holes just expect this stuff from Hamas so it's ok, no big deal. When Israel takes out one of the murdering pricks it's mass hysteria!

Posted by: Dash at May 3, 2004 at 08:24 AM

Oh my god - she was eight months pregnant. How can you negotiate with scum like this - you cant. They deliberately walked up to the car and shot her and her four daughters in cold blood.

All these guys want is their own state - bullshit.

Posted by: Rob at May 3, 2004 at 09:07 AM

Give them their own state. Make it about six feet long and six feet deep.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at May 3, 2004 at 09:10 AM

They're getting their own state. It's the other side of the security fence. But since that's a little short of the total destruction of Israel they aren't happy with it.

Posted by: Sortelli at May 3, 2004 at 09:42 AM

I can live with the Palestinians being unhappy. I just hope Israel follows through and completes the fence/Gaza withdrawal. Then Palestinians can deal with their (self created) problems on their own.

Posted by: JeffS at May 3, 2004 at 09:57 AM

But they weren't a pregnant woman and four children. They were "five settlers."

Posted by: Joanne Jacobs at May 3, 2004 at 10:11 AM

LGFers have some good comments on the next Pali BBQ watch re IDF missile retaliation -- when will these Pali ghouls stop craving human flesh and settle instead for some good beef, beans and biscuits?! You'd think that's the least Carter coulda done with Arafat: "The secret's in the sauce..."

Posted by: geezer at May 3, 2004 at 10:51 AM

NO WHEELCHAIR, NO OUTRAGE

Well, there was less outrage over Rantisi (spelling?) being killed than over Yassin. Maybe it is all about wheelchairs.

But they weren't a pregnant woman and four children. They were "five settlers."

Them settlers, they're worse than Jews, they're unter-untermensch. Any lower, and they'd be the suba-duba-suba-race.

Posted by: Andjam at May 3, 2004 at 11:06 AM

Does it seem strange that they're trying to kill people who are soon likely to be forced to leave Gaza? It's almost like they're doing it for the fun of it before they lose the opportunity to do so.

Posted by: Andjam at May 3, 2004 at 11:11 AM

The brave warriors of Mohammed doing what they do best - either hiding behind women and children or murdering them.

Why is anyone surprised.

I assume the Israelis will put them down like the rabid curs they are.

Posted by: dee at May 3, 2004 at 11:37 AM

Andrea Harris:
Give them their own state. Make it about six feet long and six feet deep.

You know I try hard to keep myself from resorting to violence and bloodshed.

But why oh why do I find it soo hard to disagree with your strategy ?

I guess its the fact that they've been trying to destroy Israel for 50 years and when they say they want peace, they mean total victory.

One of my favorite slogans is: "Save a Palestinian child. Kill his parents"

Someone calling themselves "kaffir999" posted some sort of "time test" comment here. I don't care how harmless it was, it has been deleted. If you want to do a "time test" get your own blog.

Posted by: Andrea Harris at May 3, 2004 at 12:17 PM

Hmmmm.

Hatfields and McCoys.

Crips and the Bloods, and the Latin Kings.

Hells Angels Outlaws Pagans Warlocks Renegades

Sure someone is going to disagree with me, but it's alot like a big turf war fought out by gangs. Instead of rumbles and drive bys they do car bombings ect.

Some of the actions are similar to the IRA bombings of school buses.

Now if both sides agree to honor certain rules of engagement. A gentlemans war if you will, but one side doesn't honor the deal they have an advantage unless the other side is willing to change their tactics and no longer play by the agreed rules.

Long story short. Two gangs killing each other. They should be encouraged to go at it till theres a clear cut winner.

Brings to the point of torture of Iraqis. Or any combatant in a war. It is war isn't it? Shit they are lucky whoever they are to be alive. Whats a little torture compared to the death that is deserving of any one who is an enemy.

Torture works. If your not willing to just go out and kill three or four as an example they know you'll probably eventually let them go. They clam up. Why should they tell anything. Further denials aren't met with any kind of punishment, and telling might cause even more problems. The clear cut answer from a logical military stand point is torture and sodium pentathal.

Heck down in Mexico they used to use soda pop to get confessions. Shake up the bottle, hold down the guy being questioned, place the bottle beneath the nostrils and let go. Left no marks. No permanent damage, but was said to be most effective.

Only sensible line in the comment.

Posted by: David [.net] at May 3, 2004 at 01:08 PM

Seriously, IXL, do you like making yourself look bad in public? You don't even do a good job of trying to sneak in another "Iraqi prisoners were mistreated" line like the other trolls, and its impossible to tell if Iraqis being mistreated even bothers you like it does the rest of us.

Do you wear one of those big conical dog collars around your neck to keep yourself from chewing off your extremities? That might explain your typing.

Posted by: Sortelli at May 3, 2004 at 01:50 PM

C'mon, don't encourage IXL to make his cannibalistic persona reappear; I like his current nihilistic "everybody deserves to die" spiel slightly better than that act... (Although that's damning with faint praise, I know.)

Posted by: PW at May 3, 2004 at 02:00 PM

Maybe its not even a "persona". Maybe the dude is just really, really, really stoned. That explains the hunger.

Posted by: Sortelli at May 3, 2004 at 02:06 PM

From same post at Damien Penny's blog:

And you know the same people who were so shocked and outraged by the assasination of Yassin are already working on excuses.

Ummm... examples, please? I'm all for the exposure of hypocrisy, especially when it's hypocrisy about Palestinian terrorism, but making a post like this without citing any specific sources isn't the right way to go about it.

Posted by: TimT at May 3, 2004 at 02:08 PM

Why anyone expects Israel to negotiate with these souless animals is beyond me. I think the efforts to kill the leaders of Hamas needs to be widened to include any and all terrorist organisations. To target a pregnant woman and her children, regardless of the reason, is inhuman and evil. How do such men sleep at night?

Posted by: JakeD at May 3, 2004 at 02:32 PM

TimT, regarding:

Ummm... examples, please? I'm all for the exposure of hypocrisy, especially when it's hypocrisy about Palestinian terrorism, but making a post like this without citing any specific sources isn't the right way to go about it.

Why are you asking about this here? I didn't see you pose this question to Damian, who made the statement on his blog. You might ask there first.....since Tim didn't say any such thing here.

Posted by: JeffS at May 3, 2004 at 03:00 PM

It's a valid point... No one has to think of excuses when this happens.

They usually just ignore it completely. Or trot out the old "the Jews deserved it" line.

Posted by: Sortelli at May 3, 2004 at 03:13 PM

I did a Google News comparison of the level of media outrage over the execution of the woman and her children vs. the mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers. You can find it here.

Posted by: Andrew at May 3, 2004 at 03:25 PM

Hmmmmmm, yes, I see what you mean, Sortelli. All of the "excuses" in the past weren't excuses, they were either silence or rhetoric that blamed the Jews. So really, no one is likely to be cooking up new ones. That's likely the answer to TimT's question.

The link to Andrew's blog confirms this. Those scum described this as a heroic attack. "Heroic" my ass!

Posted by: JeffS at May 3, 2004 at 03:39 PM

Disappointing thread, although hilarious is Sortelli's:
"Do you wear one of those big conical dog collars around your neck to keep yourself from chewing off your extremities?"

The rest is outrage from the Ariel Sharon Adoration Society, Hate Pali's Love Greater Israel groups, etc. Is this type of thing not predicted and expected? The Palestinians seem to know what everyone outside is apparently oblivious to. Israel, despite words, has never given up any Palestinian land and has never intended to. Do you think Sharon is seriously going to move any Settlers...?? I mean, be serious.

Posted by: carlos at May 3, 2004 at 03:58 PM

Does the collar itch, carlos?

Posted by: Sortelli at May 3, 2004 at 04:04 PM

What pali land? There is no nation of "Palestine" to give back. It seems that the Arab nations have finally learned that when you fight and lose to Israel, you lose in a big way. I'd let them keep the occupied territories as a buffer zone. After all their nation is under direct attack almost daily from a bunch suicidal fanatics.

Dickhead.

Posted by: JakeD at May 3, 2004 at 04:14 PM

What, carlos, are you disappointed that the terrorists didn't kill a few more children? Perhaps another pregnant woman? Would that make your day?

Or did you want more Palestinian bashing in this thread, so that you could really get all emotional and worked up to appropriate hand wringing about the poor widdle Palestinians, oppressed all these years? Did we fail to meet your exacting standards for crushing dissent?

If someone machined a car full of children near your home, would you be equally disappointed? Or would you rush to the scene to grab body parts and scream for vengence?

I agree. Dickhead.

Posted by: JeffS at May 3, 2004 at 04:38 PM

Correction to above:

Posted by: carlos at May 3, 2004 at 04:58 PM

I hope you don't have children, carlos. They would be luckless bastards.

Posted by: JeffS at May 3, 2004 at 05:13 PM

Wow! Carlos, my man, what a retort! Well like most guys I enjoy that past time so no denying it.

I don't see what it has to do with the fact that a bunch Arabs that no other Arab nation will take in (and people give Oz shit about asylum seeker for pete's sake) goes around murdering women and children.

Please ellaborate.

Dickhead.

Posted by: Sortelli at May 3, 2004 at 05:35 PM

holy crap carlos you've gotta be kidding.

Theres no editorialising here, we just link to news and events that show a bunch of Palestinian barbarians committing atrocities and accordingly express our outrage and disgust.

How the hell does that make us sane human beings the "Ariel Sharon adoration society" ?

Posted by: Jono at May 3, 2004 at 05:55 PM

JeffS, good point; I've just copied the post and ... um ... posted the pasted post over at Damian P.'s blog.

Dammit Carlos give me back my lamp shade collar. I can bite my stitches again.

No respect seriously.

Posted by: IXLNXS at May 3, 2004 at 07:05 PM

IXLNXS,

I have no love for the IRA or the Protestant 'paras' but I don't ever recall them bombing buses full of school children and I'm fairly certain that neither the UK nor the Republic of Ireland even have school buses, as such. Children take public transport.

That said, if you really want moral equivalence,
(crips=bloods, etc.), your face=your ass=a football. They ought to be kicked equally.

Posted by: JDB at May 3, 2004 at 07:13 PM

Jono,
I will laud your sanity and apologise profusely for my insensitivity next time I see your "outrage and disgust" on these pages the next time children of these "Palestinian barbarians" are "collateral damage"...(gee we didn't know they were in the house when we knocked it down..well these terrorists hide behind civilians,....)

Posted by: carlos at May 3, 2004 at 07:27 PM

Tim,
I thought the piece in the Sydney Morning Herald was unobjectionable. It was a news report: they are not supposed to express outrage. And the fact that murdering pregnant women is outrageous ought to go without saying, so why insist that everyone say it? They could have tossed in a few synonyms for "depraved", to describe the killers. But what would be the point? You want to hurt their feelings?

Posted by: Harry Hutton at May 3, 2004 at 08:06 PM

Dogs. Utter dogs.

Jesus, after watching the last few years of news, I shouldn't be surprised at anything the Pali's do. But this is vomitous. I didn't think you could get worse than killing civilians indiscriminately with suicide bombers, but this IS worse. The way this woman and her kids were shot - you'd shoot cattle that way. What I'd love to see now would be Sharon call out a couple of battalions of the Israeli army and tell them, find out what town these bastards came from, and come back when you've reduced it to the topography of a carpark. If that makes me a member of the Ariel Sharon Adoration Society, so much the better.

And as for IXL's comments above, for Christs sake, stay away from the blog when there's something seriously bad under discussion. Sometimes it's amusing watching you drivelling away trying to make a point. But with soemthing like this, your incoherent garblings are just demeaning.

Yes, they are "Palestinian" barbarians. You cannot seriously tell us that you have never seen a photo of some small "Palestinian" child holding a gun? No, they're not for playing Davy Crockett--their parents are raising them to be shaheed.

One side loves life, the other loves death. Do you need me to spell out which side for you?

Posted by: ushie at May 3, 2004 at 10:16 PM

well these terrorists hide behind civilians

There he goes again, trying to be a smartass and accidentally shooting himself in the foot by saying something totally sensible.

C'mon, carlos the uncapitalized! Keep going! Move those jawbones and repeat after me:

"Gosh, it's like the terrorists who create these situations are responsible for the death of innocent civilians"

The old dead bastard in the wheelchair doesn't seem so innocent now, does he?

Sadly, typical of the cunts from the SMH.

Posted by: BT at May 4, 2004 at 12:17 AM

Well the Beeb 24 here in the UK found someone to blame those children's deaths on the Isrealis. As long as their judenhaas scum like this to pull out every time an Israeli is murdered by Palestinians, the Palestinians themselves will never have to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

Posted by: Andrew Ian Dodge at May 4, 2004 at 12:19 AM

Er, carlos, would you happen to have proof that Israelis deliberately knock down houses while knowing the Palestinian families are still inside them? Or are you just, as I suspect, talking out of your ass?
