Al Franken and Air America: Silencing Minorities Since 2004!

Posted by Tim Blair at April 2, 2004 01:38 AM

I posted the Instapundit link to a large email list I am on where politics tend to run liberal-left when they come up, but it's not a political list per se.

First response:
"Liberal talk radio IS minority programming."

To which I replied:
"Did you look at the links? They are replacing local black and Asian radio programs in 3 cities with a bunch of rich white Hollywood celebrities. Is this the liberal message you want to promote?"

Second response (from a different person):
"It works for me."

No other responses so far.
Thus the much-vaunted and self-congratulatory multiculturalism of the left. Of course if I point this out in some debate in future, the response will be: "Most leftists aren't like that, you are talking about a fringe."

Yeesh, we all know how much Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage support minority radio programs.

The Koreans, Chinese, Carribeans and Liberal Radio have a single thing in common: they all need subsidies.

Why do you suppose Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage don't need subsidies? Think now...

I'm afraid you're off-topic. Tim accuses Air America of revoking radio programs by minorities while in complete ignorance of the fact that show like Limbaugh's and Savage's are aired on radio stations which are mostly 100% white, and who knows how many minority shows they have pushed off the air in their marches for syndication.

It's hypocritical to criticize one and not the other.
