Some years ago I met a woman whose boyfriend had been killed in a motorcycle accident. At his funeral, she was surprised -- well, a little more than surprised -- when his four other girlfriends turned up.

Sounds like murdered Melbourne criminal Andrew "Benji" Veniamin had the same sort of deal happening:

"Our plans for the future will be sadly missed, but you'll always remain in my heart," KK wrote in the Herald Sun's death notices.

"You left me, the best part of you, to cherish and to love our daughter," Nataline Falzon wrote.

And Cherie is hurting: "I ... wish you were still in my arms."

Bree declared her love for Veniamin, while "The Girls", Karlie and Tiffany said they would miss the fun times they shared.

Rena said Veniamin's name was engraved in her heart in letters of gold: "You're the sweetest person that has touched my heart."

Veniaminís touching evidently wasnít restricted to Rena. Or her heart.

How did this jerk find the time to date all these women? Eventually he'd have to be found out. Fortunately for him it was after death. :-P

Lucky bastard.

In some parts of the U.S. (say Montana or West Virginia), if you pulled that shit on five different women, your ass would end up murdered.

A murder is an unlawful killing. I daresay the juries in the places where that's likely to happen might decide it was a case of justifiable homicide. Especially if the jury is mostly women.

As I said earlier: lucky bastard. ;-)

I was a bit distressed to see Cherie's name there.

What with the Peter Foster scandal and her husband's on-going political troubles, you would think that she would keep her head down, wouldn't you?

Posted by: Thorn at March 28, 2004 at 12:04 PM

On second thoughts, maybe keeping her head down is not such a good idea......

Better watch out dissing Benji, Timbo- you might get Natalie gunning for you.

Nearly fifteen years ago I attended the funeral of a guy who had been, shall we say, a very good friend of my then girlfriend. The funeral was sad, naturally, as this man had suffered a tragic "where's my coke a**hole!" face-removing gunshot wound and subsequently, a closed-casket service.

So my then girlfriend was there, her best friend, and the decedant's immediate family (who had just been released from jail). Also attending were five of the hottest (but not very bright) girls in the most provocative black dresses I had ever seen.

The crowd was increasingly stunned as each one took her turn to describe what a wonderful guy he was, how kind, how loving.

No, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the wake was under the big oak tree in front of the family trailer. Nor should I have been shocked that the refreshments provided were cans of Bud floating in a galvanized tub under said oak tree.

Make of that what you will. I just thought I'd share.

Your best pal,

That is very touching Bob. Do you have the email addies of the five hotties chicks in the black dress'es?

Posted by: Bilal at March 28, 2004 at 04:03 PM

i thought about taking on Natalie; she seems to think I don't have any form with shit going on; I am a law-enforcement officer with sixteen years on show; I have been shot at twice, and blown up once.
Your pathetic hero may have stoppped a round, and a fucking good thing.
I have been shot at by P&D pricks, and if I got a clear shot I would have taken their miserable head.
Any of you hopeless slags who love these would-be gangsters deserve to go the same way.
