OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Look to your left: we’re taking ads here! Cheap rates, massive exposure, etc. Naturally, I’ll reject any advertisements which fail to meet my impeccable ethical standards (ie, that don’t pay). Check the site stats (further down to your left) for readership figures, which currently place this site way high amongst the most-read political blogs. As well, anecdotal evidence suggests that almost all my readers are voracious capitalistic consumers -- apart from those few readers of a leftist bent, whose tormented comments are sent from the cardboard shelters they live in behind convenience stores. Hey, maybe you sell sealants or other waterproofing products; I’ve got that market nailed!

Man, Blair "sold out." I remember the days when reading Blair was cool man, three miles underground ...

I'll sell advertising space on my cardboard box as well if anyone is interested.

Somehow I don't think it works if you advertise your own site... :-)

An error, Rob, swiftly corrected. I was driving from Melbourne to Sydney at the time.

You might want to add the ads to the template for archived posts, that way those of us who use the RSS feed to jump straight to each story can see them.

Tim,
I think you needs to sends me some money so I can protects you from pop-up and other annoyin things.
Just a suggestion if you knows what I'm sayin.

Tim, you should run a comp for the most obscene RWDB advertisment. You know: seal clubs, global heaters, that sort of thing.

I've got some EXPENSIVE WINE I'd like to sell. Let's hear your pitch!

"Our advertised LUNCH special is..."

This Vinny person, you want i should fix him too?

Posted by: Drago Milovechek at February 3, 2004 at 08:45 AM

Tim,
If you really selling out, how bout advertise yo stuff - what kinda stereo you got ? I need a new system, ifn yourn are good.

Maybe you gotta nice girlfriend or boyfriend you wanna advertise there ? I wouldn mind a new one, but not if yo been beatin on them - that makes them surly, know what I mean ? Better to give em money & drugs to get what you want, instead of beatin on them.

I don't want yo mini tho - they just a IJC trick to try and make Krauts think they shrunk since the original mini. IJC is the International Jewish Conspiracy - I found their home page the other day: InJewCon Home Page

For my $50 will you pay for the shipping if I advertise all my old used furniture?

Posted by: Wallace at February 3, 2004 at 12:09 PM

So how much do you charge?

Posted by: El-Diablo at February 3, 2004 at 12:47 PM

Actually, the error was mine -- I was setting this thing up while suffering one of my bouts of inflamed sinuses. It's so difficult to work on a website when there is a giant with size twenty boots standing on your face. Ouch my head. (Also I've been eating decongestants like they were candy. The box says you aren't supposed to do that, but I don't let boxes tell me what to do, even when they shout very loudly.)

So there are some bugs to be worked out in the look of the thing. But... the part where you get to buy ad space works just fine, hint hint. Also I will be adding it to the individual entry template forthwith and forsooth and all that. Where is my Benadryl?

Posted by: Andrea Harris at February 3, 2004 at 01:04 PM

Andrea,

I've spent the last three weeks disabled with sinusitis...the weather has been killing me. I've gotten some "non-drug" relief by eating massive bowls of Thai Tom Yum Goong (shrimp soup).

The spiciness helps to clear nasal passages but it may create other problems...Johnny Cash's tune "Ring of Fire" has been on my mind of late.

Good luck. Hope you feel better.

I'm considering posting the following:

REQUEST FOR URGENT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP

FIRST, I MUST SOLICIT YOUR STRICTEST CONFIDENCE IN THIS TRANSACTION. THIS IS BY VIRTUE OF ITS NATURE AS BEING UTTERLY CONFIDENTIAL AND 'TOP SECRET'. I AM SURE AND HAVE CONFIDENCE OF YOUR ABILITY AND RELIABILITY TO PROSECUTE A TRANSACTION OF THIS GREAT MAGNITUDE INVOLVING A PENDING TRANSACTION REQUIRING MAXIIMUM CONFIDENCE...

Any takers? Anyone?

As long as you pay.
