As a commenter on Rantbug says:

There's a lesson in this for al Qaeda: Do you really want pick a fight with a country that can afford to spend millions of research dollars perfecting the cheese-slicing laser?

I went to the Michael Berube website because I had a crush on a girl named Marlene Berube in middle school. I thought maybe he might be related to her, but it was not to be. Also, she didn't have those pretentious accent marks when she spelled her name, so I'm sure they aren't related. She was more down to earth than that.

Apparently global warming causes the seas to rise more around third-world counties than it does around first-world ones. I don't know how that stinking George Bush pulled it off, but a curse on his moustache!

Wow. Before the advent of Evil Western Technology there were no hurricanes* in the South Pacific.

*Yeah, I know. Cyclones, Typhoons, Big-ass Storms.

Actually, one's Chinese and the other's Korean. I'll leave you to guess which is which.* (Same difference, I know).

* Clue: Romanizations of Korean names don't use z's and x's

So we're making fun of French-Canadian names now, are we. And posting thoughtful, incisive commentary about a picture my wife took one evening when I was sitting around the house. Really impressive stuff! Much snarkier than Lileks-- more sober than Steyn! Keep up the good work. . . .

And what if I told Ken J that Marlene is indeed my sister, and that if he looks at her that way again he'll be very sorry he did?
