UNIVERSAL IMMINENCE

The Age’s Kenneth Davidson, quoted by Margo the Ethical:

The excuse used by Bush, Blair and Howard to invade Iraq was the imminent threat posed by Hussein's weapons of mass destruction. This claim now appears to have been untrue.

This claim -- that Bush, Blair, and Howard used the excuse of imminent threat to invade Iraq -- always was untrue. Add another one to Andrew Sullivan’s collection of imminent lies.

Kenneth Davidson, like Philip Adams, pointless observation goes here.

Sullivan's quote from Le Monde is good: they find the recall disturbing, undemocratic. This, from a newspaper whose absolutist government exists because of something which rates as one of the worst events for muder and savagery, the French Revolution ,to install another absolutist government.Ha, humbuggerers.

Davidson pretends to be an economist. He's just a voice box for Mao to chatter away in the little red organ, The Age.

Found also the Californian univarsity lecturess worth a good cough too. Rare that so many women should vote for a male who is a republican.

As long as the male is a Dem. like Davis , one presumes, wimmin can ignore their scruples and vote for a male patriarchal oppressor as governor, even president like, `I didn't rape her' Clinton.

And communistos can't figure out why R.W.D.Beasts are certain, socialistos have no grip on reality?

Posted by: d at October 9, 2003 at 01:07 PM

Reagan was a very good president, on balance.
Of more modest responsibility,Clint Eastwood ran for mayor of his town to overcome the obstacles posed by the twat predecessor and did a good job.Arnie has just trampled over, at the polls a socialisto who has driven Califorinia into the ground, it is a reasonable bet he will do well enough too.
Each of them a republican, male, actor, and entrepeneur.

Yep, Sullivan has it:

"Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike?"--GW Bush, 1/28/03.

'The excuse used by Bush, Blair and Howard ... '

'Excuse'?

You were away from school yesterday, what's your excuse? You forgot to pick up the milk, what's your excuse? You bombed Iraq, what's your excuse?

You're a dumbass, leftvoid, obsessed, deranged, purse-lipped, truth-hating, America-hating, self-hating, pathetic Age columnist, what's your excuse?

By the way, the WSJ asks the question that is unanswered by so many left columnists: 'To answer his critics, the president ... has to keep making them face this big picture. Do they really think that in today's world we have to wait until a threat is 'imminent'? Do they really deny that Saddam Hussein was a serious threat to the world order, or think that he'd desist from weapons of mass destruction? Would they really divert the requested $87 billion to health care and ignore future risks of terror?'

Jesus fucking Christ on a goddamn pogo stick.

I'm just so utterly sick of this infantile refusal to read the fucking words spoken by our President, especially in light of the fact that they are readily available to anyone with an Internet connection and a functioning index finger.

That's it! I've had it!!

I'm getting a gun.

I'm shooting all the idiots. Dead. Shooting them dead!

In this way, I will win, and stupidity will lose.

Right? Right?!?!?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I'm just so utterly sick of this infantile refusal to read the fucking words spoken by our President"

The dolts that write to the letters pages in the papers making the same accusations could probably use the ignorance excuse, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the likes of Margo and Davidson know exactly what has been said and what has not been said by Bush/Blair/Howard.

People sweeten it up by by saying that these "journo's" are just spinning the truth, well its not "spin", its just plain, good old fashion lying.

Actually d, Clint Eastwood ran for Mayor of Carmel, CA as an Independent, and in at least one interview has called himself a Libertarian.

But that's still closer to Republican than it is to Democrat.

Posted by: MacBeth at October 9, 2003 at 10:21 PM

Ian and Michael, I agree with you both. It is the new BIG LIE. You know, the one that Gobbels said that if you said it loud enough and long enough then it will be believed.

"What I don’t understand is how they can be so complacent. Don’t they see the greatest danger this republic has ever faced is now in front of us? Don’t they understand that neutralizing Iraq is not some kind of interesting proposal in an unnecessary war – but the bare minimum to prevent a holocaust in the very heart of this country’s democracy? "

Andrew Sullivan, March 2002

Tim - Did Margo's boss ever get back to you on that ethics issue?

Posted by: Roger Bournival at October 10, 2003 at 05:54 AM

Seemed like an excuse to me. Documentary evidence shows those around Bush fancied attacking Iraq years before 9/11. And the excuse doesn't add up. No weapons. No traces of weapons. Merely some 'laboratories' that 'could' have 'perhaps' been used for something like that. Bet there's several thousand such sites here in Melbourne. Kay's report is filled with nothing but innuendo and extrapolations based on pre-determined outcomes.

Deluding yourselves, y'all. kinda funny really.
What happens when the towel gets thrown in (as it will be)? Communist aliens with a green agenda brainwashed US soldiers, vapourised the WMDs and took control of the world's media? Hey, maybe then we could build a doomsday device a la Dr Strangelove... yeah, that'd be ace!

Posted by: Winston at October 10, 2003 at 12:10 PM

Ahem, howler of a slip by me Macbeth... and all the better Eastwood did so run as an independent.

Posted by: d at October 10, 2003 at 12:42 PM

Documentary evidence? Such as...?

winston is a retarted pupet.

Posted by: rosco at October 10, 2003 at 06:56 PM

Winston, so we don't invade, Hans Blix misses the botulism in the guys fridge and reports they have nothing.

Now what?

France gets the sanctions lifted and he's back to mass production. Explain how your whining does anything except leave the Iraqi people to torture and murder.
