DEFINING MADNESS

It’s Adelaide’s version of the Mariel boatlift:

A paranoid schizophrenic who killed a homeless man in Adelaide's parklands has been given Supreme Court permission to move to Mildura to live with his family.

Lincoln Jason Williams, 33, spent six years receiving treatment before Justice John Perry last month decided he was well enough to leave South Australia to return to Victoria.

That’s an interesting new legal definition of sanity. A person is well enough to leave South Australia ...

I will never be able to leave.

Reminds me when Don Dunstan made homosexuality legal in SA , a SA-resident friend said he was leaving SA for Victoria, ".. before that bastard Dunstan makes poofterism bloody compulsory.

Tim you are bashing us poor crow eaters too much. I mean jeez we are in a pretty fragile state after the weekend - enough said. Dont make me come over there and turn you into a South Australian term deposit....... think Snowtown......

I must be clinicly insane then, because i won't be leaving for quite awhile yet.

Swift, considering some of your previous posts on various topics, I never doubted it for a second.

If Swift is in Adelaide I'm going back onto Zoloft.

Gee, Gary, you really *are* a little mentally fragile, no? You live in a city also inhabited by someone you disagree with, are informed of same, and the result's a headlong dive for the happy pills?

Or do I just not get satire?

I'm in the same town as the guy who writes TIM B.LIAR. He even has gigs with his "band" at the Espy. Doesn't that qualify for a life-time of free drugs?

Posted by: Jake D at September 22, 2003 at 05:43 PM

The "free drugs" argument is seductive, but the ones you can get for (nearly) nix are not the ones I want.

(Hint -- beer, pot.)

By moving to Victoria, Williams raised the IQ level in both States.

Just pee -essing -- played at the Espy a few times myself. Quite handy with the free beer, a bit skinny on the actual cash.

Geez -- must be a pub!

Anyone mentally fit to leave S.A. wouldn't be living there in the first place.
