SLIDIN' SIMON

Simon Crean continues to plunge in Labor polling. Will Bob Carr take over as leader? I say we give the job to this guy. He’ll get the party back to its roots.

Tim, you musn't knock Neville Hilton for showing entrepreneurial initiative. The ALP needs more businessmen with private-sector acumen.

I can foresee Southern Belles opening a branch in the ACT soon: Canberra Cuties - indulge yourself with our pampering service, especially for stressed political hacks. As recommended by Mark Latham: Beat up on our girls instead of taxi drivers.

Talking of beat-ups, Bob Carr's supposed move to Canberra is the biggest non-event of the week; a glorious filler for a non-news day for hacks too lazy to search out the real stories.
