HEARTS AND MINDS

Good news from Iraq:

In the 20 weeks since the fall of Baghdad, two U.S. soldiers and two Iraqi women won each other's hearts.

The American men and Iraqi women courted, fell in love and decided to marry, but they had to battle disapproving senior American officers and fears of retribution by militant Iraqis.

When they finally held their double wedding ceremony Aug. 17, the nuptials were carried out with the secrecy and synchronization of a commando operation.

I hear Uday’s honeymoon suite is vacant.

"I hear Uday's honeymoon suite is vacant."

I'd take a pass on that offer. Remembering all the Iraqi women that passed through Uday's love nest as the last stop on the way to a shallow grave would tend to dampen the romance of the wedding night.

Should open up a whole new front of Vietnam comparisons. Filthy GIs hoodwinking innocent iraqi girls into marriage, violating their sacred islamic maidenhoods, implanting half-bred foreign devils in their bellies before bunking out and leaving the ex-maidens to a life of ostracism and shame.

wow he was spoiled. "Scattered among the debris from a bomb that tore through Uday's house and exploded in a bunker below lay stationery with Uday's name in gold lettering, photographs of Uday and dozens of copies of Uday's doctoral dissertation, "The World After the Cold War."

Dam, that is crazy

Calls to mind the famous British line about visiting American troops during World War Two: 'Over-sexed, over-paid and over here'.

Of course, the Yanks said the Brits were just pissed off because they were 'under-sexed, under-paid, and under Eisenhower.'

Why would they want to marry muslim women? I could be wrong, but nothing says "dead f*ck" quite like belonging to some weird, fundamentalist death cult.
