WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS CLICHES

If hockey players and Rugby League players and baseball players and AFL players all take it "one game at a time", how do National Geographic World Championship competitors take it?

He is clearly no AFL star, having forgotten to preface his remarks with 'Yeah, nah'.

Good point... I wonder how competitors in the 'Global Deforestation World Cup' take it? (Scroll down to the June 29 entry). One tree at a time? One "Belgium" at a time?
I suppose it all depends on who they are - like, if they're France or Britain, or someone who actually believes in the Greenhouse effect, they might take it pretty seriously...

When the Nat Geo boys take it "one week at a time", do they manage to "get it done" or do they merely "step up to the plate"?
