MICHY FRANCE

Agence France Presse journalist Josette Michy-Giraud warns Merde in France to “stop writing in English”:

to begin with stop writing in English and stop sucking off the Brits and the Americans they have enough power as it is! One must criticize one's country that's important, but to denigrate constantly does not make any sense, just apply for American citizenship, things will go much quicker! You are knocking yourself out when all you have to do is get a green card!

Josette: just stop writing! Other brief items:

•The NSW Carr government is reissuing fines from decades past, including ancient (and already paid) dangerous dog penalties.

•Katherine Hepburn has died at 96.

•And another man whose arm became trapped has decided to remove the limb.

Help! My hand is stuck in my pocket! Somebody restrain me before I reach for the pocket knife!

I'd be tempted to cut off an arm if the worker's comp payment was high enough.

But MerdeinFrance *is* American, is he not?

Yes, the MIF guy is American and that's partly why the letter is so funny. I guess that means that his French is good enough and colloquial enough to fool Mme. Michy. She's just the most recent of many mainstream journalists to get burnt by the blogosphere. Although more obsure than the others, let's see if she comes back for more abuse.

I can see this arm-chopping thing becoming a trend...

"Carr Chases Dog"
Best headline I've seen in that useless rag of a newspaper.

Hey! Mme. Michy-Giraud! Here in the Unites States, only teenage girls use so many damn exclamation points! Where did you go to j school, anyway! Or did you! Please, use some other form of punctuation! Or maybe you could sell some of your stockpiled exclamations and retire!

"stop sucking off the Brits and the Americans"

Now that's a firm warning to French men. But will they listen?
