FOOTWEAR OBSERVED
A bunch of us in a bar the other night. We meet a babe wearing a miniskirt and boxing shoes.
As a noted fashion expert, I commend this look for both hotness and practicality.

I can't remember her name or what else she was wearing but she was hanging with the director of the Melbourne Underground Film Festival Richard Wolstencroft -- who, incidently, is currently in hot water for programming a filmed talk by Holocaust revisionist David Irving. Did your boxing shoed girl look like the type who'd hang out with a Holocaust revisionist scheduling film festival director? If it's not the same girl we may be seeing the beginning of a particularly erotic fashion trend.
Also of note -- I seem to recall a fashion mag (Vogue?) a few months back with the covergirl wearing boxing headgear.

In the mid-'80s, there was a brief fad on my campus for long, lacy, romantic dresses worn with army boots. Add some formal gloves and a Tom Petty hat, and your ensemble is complete. The 50lb backpack kind of spoiled the look, though.
