JAKE BEER FUND LATEST

This is getting good; we’ve now raised $A178 for Jake Ryan, Australia’s voice against terror. More beer cash will be needed. Jake is, after all, Australian. So are his football club teammates.

The current news.com.au main site has a picture of Jake in court, and an update on his impromptu speech. Here’s another shot. Femme readers, what you say?

Bloggers who’ve donated so far include Tony the Teacher, Andrew Lloyd, Paul Bickford, Professor Bunyip (via a mysterious third party, to conceal his Bunyipish identity), Ricky Dardenne, Scott Wickstein (who donated rum money, in the interests of cultural diversity), Oscar Jr., Gary Gravett, and Bernie Slattery.

See here and here for earlier Beer Fund reports. Now hit that PayPal on the left. Mention that your donation is for Jake.

Can I just send cash? They don't let welfare-sucking students-for-life get credit-cards where I live...

Good one Timbo. We need to reinforce the beer-guzzling, oath-cussing and blue-proning image of Australians in Asia - elsewise snobbish wankers like Alison Boinkowski will have to resort to actual analysis to get their heads around the problem of "why do they hate us".

And then the terrorists will have won.

The cyberspace geeks are out to get me.
That Pay Pal thing is stuffed.
Was this invented by some whizz kid to make it as hard as possible to put a "tip in the jar" just to keep the bloody peasants away?
Bash the "incorrect entry, please re-enter,.......etc etc" where the sun has a minimal amount of influence.
I will send some cash to Jake's footy club for a beer or two.

Turns out I had US$6 sitting in my Pay Pal account. It's all Jake's now - he's earned it. (Though how I typed "Mayment" for "Payment" I'll never know.)

Seems you don't have many femme readers willing to comment on this guy's looks. From what I can see, I definitely wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers. He's hot! And he's feisty. I'm in love...

I just didn't want to break any hearts, so I'll just say... hubba hubba.

Did you lot read this line from the article -

Mr Ryan said the locals were not upset by the incident, and the only negative feedback had come from a Melbourne radio station.

Who was the idiot radio dickhead? Personally I think he needs a severe kick in the head for his utterly unaustralian act of giving negative feedback about Jake's actions.

Anybody out there in radio land who knows who this cretin is? Personally I think we need a carrot and stick approach. Chip in to Jake's Beer fund and club this idiot over the head at the same time.

The locals in Bali would probably approve of Jake's action. Those nutters (from Sumatra ?)have badly damaged the livelihoods of tens of thousands of decent Balinese people - as well as killing and maiming many Balinese. Many families in Bali will not be able to afford proper medical care for their children....and so on.

Those terrorists have confessed, and deserve to fry. Jake may have lost his cool momentarily, after all the ranting by the defendant - but he was speaking for millions. I wish him a good life.

Hey Tim,

What about including my name in the "Jake Beer Fund" blog roll of honour? After my recent machiavellian defence of the coalition's cynical exercise in great power politics I would like the world to know that I've got a social conscience too.

I am pond scum in the blogosphere, so thanks for the link. A dollar buys a lot these days I guess. At any rate, here comes another donation - another beer for Jake and as a thanks to Tim.
