Donations are already rolling in to buy an Australian hero a drink. Just indicate somewhere in your PayPal message that the donation is for Jake, and it will be forwarded to him via his football club. Any donations from businesses will be rewarded with free ads at this site, and donations from bloggers will get you a link. Bernie Slattery, way to go!

(Regarding free ads: 60,000 hits a week here. Value, huh?)

UPDATE. The Beer Fund has already raised about $A80 - and every cent will go entirely to Jake. This isn't some bogus Red Cross deal! Blogger links will be posted tonight.

Tim, the Red Cross announced at the time where the Bali appeal money was going. There was no bogosity.

You already knew that.

Why are you repeating things you know to be untrue?

Indeed, for someone who prides himself in exposing media lies and manipulation, to repeat the lies about the RC that the media has been spreading is very poor form.

Hope this Jake gets money for a snoot full!

Another Jake, Jake Young, was a friend of ours here in Midland Texas. Jake Young died in Bali, leaving a wife and newly born child. Jake was an All American football player at the Univ. of Nebraska, but more importantly a fine human being.

How about a fundraiser to buy the ammo used to shoot these arseholes when they're convicted?

I'm in for a Lincoln.

Bicko, Bon and Tim A. haven't even been charged yet!

I was talking about the Indonesian party poopers, but now you mention it these local spoilsports could do with some summary justice.

I reckon that what Jake Ryan did was wrong and unacceptable. He should not have shouted "you fucking dog". He should have thrown a right-hook to the smiling bastards face, kneed him in the balls, ripped his "holy" hat off, and THEN shouted "take that, you fucking dog"

Oh man, this could be a really unhealthy charity.

Oh I don't know Matt from Vegas, I'm feeling better already knowing there's something positive to give to. I wonder if you can volunteer for the firing squad? Lets have a collection to send some willing Bali victims back to pull the trigger. I bet Jake Ryan would like that with his beer.....

Posted by: Jake D at June 25, 2003 at 04:18 PM

Better than that, I'm going to be in Bali next week, I'd like to buy him a beer and ask that next time, instead of sugarcoating it, why doesn't he just come out and say how he really feels. My personal feelings about terrorists - 4 pounds of pressure on a 2 pound trigger.

Nice one Patrick, give him our best. Where can I buy a Southport Sharks jumper? They're my new 2nd favourite team (behind the Bombers! Essendon Akbah!!!)

I dont think anyone has the right to judge Jake's actions, unless they have actually been through what he has had to go through...
I think what he did took courage & that should be admired, anyone else who thinks differently should try & put themselves in his shoes or maybe even his parents position because I am sure there attitude would differ!
Jake didnt ask for this to happen & has dealt with the situation in a way that should make every Australian proud!
