Say what you will, this is an honor she richly deserves.

Ken,

Are you seriosuly saying that Corrie deserves to be immortalised as a "hero"?

Or are you saying that she deserves to be regarded as comparable to the the henchman of a tyrant (and would be subjugator of the masses) and a convicted murderer?

that's exactly where she belongs, next to a cop-killer & a communist insurgent.

Wow. I didn't know whe had long blond hair. For some reason I thought she shaved her head. Ok, an aryan woman as a hero of the barrio it is then.

More the latter. I think she could be reasonably described as an accomplice both to murder and subjugation of some masses, and readily would have done more in those directions if she could have.

If anything's appalling, although it's essential to having a fix on who she was, it's knowing how proud she'd be to be up on that wall.

What, no halo?

Thersites, if you consider Ken Parish "lefty" you're either American (and so working from a different scale), far-right, or not paying attention. Anyway, he's at:

John Quiggin's at:

One order of word salad for Table 1.

Who noticed that the three "heroes" are portrayed as cogs in some larger machine? What does that machine do, and who built it?

As promised:

Among many other terrorist activities, Lehi assassinated UN mediator Count Folke Bernadotte. Bernadotte's insistence on the right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homes was the cause for his murder. The assassination was directed by Yehoshua Zetler and carried out by a four-man team lead by Meshulam Markover. The fatal shots were fired by Yehoshua Cohen. Lehi leaders Nathan Yellin-Moor and Matitiahu Schmulevitz were arrested two months after the murder. Most of the suspects involved were released immediately and all of them were granted general amnesty on the 14th of February, 1949.

After the state of Israel was created, Lehi was mostly disbanded and integrated into the Israel Defence Forces. Members of the Lehi founded a political party known as 'Fighters," but it had little electoral success and disbanded.

By the way, the LGF comments you link to are sickening.

Why not go tell them that, li'l Bonnie?

No point.

It's an old thread already; they post real fast over there; opposing viewpoints are either deleted or derided rather than read; and they're logic-proof wingnuts in any case.
