Jose can you see, by the dawn's early light, the policemen are here, and they've brought with them 'copters:

French anti-globalisation activist Jose Bove has been arrested to serve 10 month in jail for destroying genetically-modified crops.

Eighty police officers backed up by a surveillance helicopter picked him up at his farm during an dawn raid on his farm in southern France.

His lawyer complained that police took him from his home in what amounted to a commando operation - involving a helicopter, police dogs and policemen who rammed his front door.

Sounds fair enough. Now Bove knows how that innocent McDonald’s felt when he destroyed it.

Doncha wish that we could do the same with every one of these freeking flat-earth enviro-scum. Just lock the whole lot of these pricks up and accidently forget where we put them for say 100 years or so. Then we feed them nothing but GM foods, preferably as untested as possible.

I would have thought that luxuriant growth on his upper lip was a result of genetic modification - either that or he is a member of the Ba'ath Party. Hang on, Frenchman, Ba'ath Party, Saddam missing - My God, the penny has dropped! Saddam is with the Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys attacking McDonalds in southern France - the axis of evil widens!

If it were up to me he would get McDonalds three times a day. Two Egg McMuffins for breakfast, a Big Mac with onion rings and a strawberry shake for lunch, and a Quater Pounder w/ cheese with fries and soft drink for dinner. All supersized. Finally, for dessert a hot apple pie right out of the oil shoved up his ass. Bon apetit' a-hole.

The reason they went in with Swat power is because "anti-globalisation activist" is a euphemism for violent and dangerous dirty-fighting psycho meathead.

80 policeman and a helicopter for this bozo!?

What would the French have used to rescue Private Jessica? The entire Foreign Legion?

Did you know that Jose was raised in the bastion of dimocracy, Berkeley California.

Tim Blair: I thought I had some fresh news... It must be the time difference between Sweden and Australia! ;) I must be located too close to France. I wrote a post about this guy in November, 2002.

Time to celebrate! Cheers!
