OZ BLOG NEWS

Tony the Teacher and Supermercado have been absorbed into the Drivel Warehouse media empire. Sam Ward and Scott Wickstein are now picture bloggers. The sites of Mark Gallagher and Ken Parish are down due to a shared technical problem that defies quick analysis (“Worst case scenario: everything's been deleted,” writes Mark) and Kev Gillett has an invitation for ABC current affairs boss Max Uechtritz:

I am going to a Regimental Reunion in Wagga Wagga in August - you might like to drop in and explain to the blokes of my Infantry Battalion what you mean by 'lying bastards'.

Max should go. And the ABC should cover it.

I'm thinking of becoming a Cam Whore if the picture doesn't do the trick.

timbo,
any decent Journalist will go to where the sentence was uttered and find if is was true and if so what was the context.

This is pretty easy to do. To keep up this pathetic attempt at portraying Big Max is anti-American shows you are either dead lazy or stupid!

Moreover of all the people to try to get at the ABC Big Max is the least ideological.

Why don't you try and put the boot into the people who put such a shocker as Shier into the head seat.
Imagine what would happen if a person of quality had been put in!

As your sole source of news, Homer, you owe me $10. Go hit the PayPal.

looking after a kid at home and ensuring another gets to school and then back home again means I don't have the means however I did notice no denial.

Look there are plenty of people to get stuck into at the ABC but Big MAx aint one of them.
I realise Alston has an agenda in trying to do over Big Max but even one phonecall could have shown what he was alleging was a load of cobblers.

IT doesn't put you in great light when you keep this going. I would expect it of the penguin or Big Ben but not you.

Try to aim for quality Timbo it is you!

"The penguin"?

It's not that you're a boring person, Homer, but could you keep it to 25 words or less? These are "comment" boxes, not "ramble" boxes.

If you did some damn work and checked out a few facts I wouldn't have to write!

Posted by: Homer Paxton at June 2, 2003 at 02:42 PM

If Homer is diminutivizing "Tim" to "Timbo", what should Homer's nick be? Winner gets a congratulatory comment. Remember to aim for quality it is you!

It's a term of affection which is why I am concerned at the path he is pursuing!

Speaking as someone who despises the ABC for its leftist bias, as someone who listens to RN and watches regularly, someone who really wishes all those seventies bound pinko wankers would just go an pay for their own stations instead of expecting me to, I really do wish Alston had not attacked the ABC. I also wish the right wing pundits would leave off trying to inflame the issue. Whenever someone does, the caterwauling by the lame arsed pinko on radio, tv, and in the opinion pages is painful in the extreme. It is an offence to the spirit. I engage most closely in current affairs in the morning getting ready to go to work when I am most vulnerable. Leave them be for chrissakes. Keep them quiet (ie on the ABC). We have just ousted a two tyrannical regimes, we have a strong economy given the world markets, borders are reasonably secure, and we are not gonna see an ALP government for a good 4 years. Life is good.

Give them their lousy 10c a day to fondle themselves, I'm happy to tune in at my own risk safe in the knowledge that the people running the big show may well be listening but they ain't paying attention.

I suspect Uechtritz was reffering to official military announcements and those that make them as 'lying bastards', not your average infantry trooper, sailor or jet jockey.

But don't let something that obvious get in the way of the bullshit indignation, please.
