Meanwhile all the Hollingworth controversy is allowing Crean to remain as leader of the opposition. Which is probably exactly as Howard wants it.

Hollingworth's real crime was that he was appointed by a liberal Prime Minister. Beattie is a Labor man and so will not be attacked by the chattering classes who persued Hollingworth with so much venom.

I don't know if it ever was what you said it was; you don't provide any proof.
Also, if you want to have a go at the story for being biased, note that it is AAP's bias, not The Age's.
I thought you said you used to work in newspapers?
