HOLLINGWORTH, etc

John Howard says this:

"He has paid an extremely high price for that error of judgment."

And The Age hears this:

Resignation 'too high a price': PM

In quotes and all. Idiots. That’s via Gareth Parker, who also points to a fascinating letter at Bernie Slattery’s place. Go read. It’s about the Australian Labor Party, Peter Beattie, and hypocrisy.

So, when will Peter Beattie resign?

How about all the JUDGES that have allowed criminals to continue their lives of crime being forced to resign? I'd like to see that.

Meanwhile all the Hollingworth controversy is allowing Crean to remain as leader of the opposition. Which is probably exactly as Howard wants it.

Bear in mind that, to the left, its not the crime but who commits it that counts. Hollingworth's real crime was that he was appointed by a liberal Prime Minister. Beattie is a Labor man and so will not be attacked by the chattering classes who persued Hollingworth with so much venom.

...except that's not what it says now. The head now reads:

Hollingworth was right to resign: PM

I don't know if it ever was what you said it was; you don't provide any proof.

Also, if you want to have a go at the story for being biased, note that it is AAP's bias, not The Age's.

I thought you said you used to work in newspapers?

Oooohh! What a telling riposte, Bon.

The Age changed the headline after this was posted. As for AAP's bias ... they don't write the headlines. The Age does.

Besides, even if AAP did write the headline, The Age RAN IT.
