It's just as well that the council settled on tomato and cheese sandwiches since beef would have been a problem for Hindus and shellfish for orthodox Jews. But the cheese is a problem for strict Vegans, and if Australia really wants to demonstrate a global sensitivity, tofu and sprouts might be a better choice.

I'm a little disappointed to see that Australians favor a heavy, tomato-based barbecue sauce instead of the superior (for pork) vinegar-oil-hot pepper variety. On the other hand, given the culinary direction of the country, it's just as well since with the overpowering tomato-based sauce you won't be able to tell the difference between soy-analog mock ribs and the real thing.

PS--Your website is much improved. It's good to see that at least one thing in your country is changing for the better.
