The one good thing to come out of this is that it will be a very long time before another Prime Minister appoints a religious fanatic to the role of Governor General.

And yes - Hollingworth is a fanatic. You do not become an arch bishop without being so totally and blindly believing that your first loyalty is to the institution (which he has shown with his cover up of the child abuse). His first loyalty was never to this country or its people.

John Howard is one of the greatest Prime Ministers we have ever had - but Hollingworth should NEVER have been appointed in the first place.

Some of the things he said while G-G were idiotic. Does he have the same speech writer Lott had?

But he's an Anglican. That's church code for Doesn't believe in God.

He was beginning to sound like a politician trying to spin his way out of trouble. That should have told him all he needed to know about his position.

Perhaps it did.
